Well.it has been pointed out that the Xelento has more of everything that the ie80 and ie80S have,so that sounds great. With the ie80S,I really am listening to albums I've know for many years, and hearing previously hidden details, revelatory! My understanding is that the Xelento has a similar "romantic" and warm tone as the ie80 series, with extra detail without being sibilant or piercing in the treble region, important!.I have a pretty wide range of music files,Beatles,Stones, through to jazz,African,soundtracks,etc..Everything sounds great with the the ie80S,full,warm and detailed, with the same wide soundstage as it's predecessors.Do I need to upgrade?! Many years ago,I had vinyl systems, and each upgrade, eventually ending with a LinnSondek LP12,Naim Monoblocks, and Linn Isobariks rig, brought added and extra level of details. This is what the ie80S have brought to the table, more of everything.I will not be drawn down the upgraditus rabbit hole, plus my ears aren't so young! I do like DD iems.Would the Xelento be a worthwhile upgrade and end game iem for me? Certainly, the ie80S have shown to me what's possible, should I consider moving up a notch or two.It should be. What do you like the most about ie80S, and what would you want the upgrade to do? Depending on those answers, I could point to what is the most likely candidate for your upgrade
Many thanks for taking the time and trouble to consider my dilemma! It's very much appreciated!
