Just try the tape mode. Put a small piece of clear tape over the bass adjuster screws and it greatly improve the vocals/mids. As well as the treble. Bass will have more control (get rid of most of the mid bass bloat).

Did it anyway, mids are still too recessed at some songs

FX700s also have recessed mids so not sure if that will be to your liking. Maybe the GR07? I really don't know what else to recommend. I'm hearing really good things about the H-200s so maybe look into that. Still I'm a bit skeptical myself after having a really bad experience with their first model. But things may have changed this time around...

I had the GR07 and hated it, too bright and sibilant for me! Maybe because the cord turned green, I can get earsonics SM3 V1 for 200$, would that be good

Hi guys this is my first post here,

I recently had a pair of Bose IE2's and wanted moar audio so I found a pair of IE80's on eBay for auction at $0.99 from china that I won for $50.  Little did I know about the whole counterfeit fiasco. Anyway when I received them I was very happy. After learning of the whole fake stuff I got really paranoid and started contact the seller and trying to find ways to return them and get a new pair. The seller was very helpful but did not understand what I meant about them being fake as he continued to assure me they were real to his knowledge. Anyway my paranoia got the best of me and I went to a retail store to buy/try a pair I know to be genuine (The store was confused that a 17 year old had walked in with a pair of 400 dollar headphones). They sounded exactly the same. Mine might have even sounded better - or more depth/kick when the bass hit but I think that might been effects of burn in as you call it as I had been using mine longer than the pair the store allowed me to use) So if mine are counterfeit I don't care at this point because they did a REALLY good job.

I just thought Id share that. Loving my new IE80s regardless of authenticity. And I believe it is really possible to get a good deal on a real pair!

I now understand the concept of sound stage. I absolutely love the clarity of all the ranges of sound. The Bose has a compressed feeling to them where everything felt like it was coming from one place, where on my 80s when I close my eyes it sounds like the drummer is over there and the bass guitarist is just in-front of me and the singer is slightly to the left but closer to me.
