  what i think they meant was that.. yes.. you got them from amazon, but third party resellers can also go through amazon. if your order was "fulfilled by amazon", then good chance that they are authentic. but if it was by a different company that fulfilled your order, then they might be fake.

on amazon.de the seller is amazon

I've never read of anyone comaining of sibilance in the IE80's. If you are certain you have a good seal then get a refund and re order from a seller you trust.

i believe that i do have a good seal ,mids are very clear and bass is also very good, but highs are hurting my ears.
i don't think seller is the problem , maybe they are defective or maybe these earphones are not for me.

I did buy my IE80 also from Amazon and they are not fake, you can even registrate your set on the Sennheiser site, so than you are sure but again, they are ok, because i know from an insider that Amazon buy complete production stocks which allows them to sell the phones under the normal market price. Mine are perfect and my best set of 5 I own, specially in marriage with the AK10 amp, the result is stunning. The standard tips were actually good for me but the Comply foam is better by all means.

Based on what you said, I suspect that these are not for you taste. 
Burn-in may help a bit if the treble at the beginning appears a little bit redundant, but this effect should be evident within 10 hours.  And if it is hurting your ears, and you have good reason believing this is not a fake pair, then probably you are very sensitive to high frequencies.

See YouTube, there is a video which learns you to see the difference between fake and real, for example on the real the logo is a gravure on the alu plate, on the fake it is a kind of sticker. I don' t have problem with treble altrough i am sensitive myself , helpfull might be the little bass screw i turned on half wich gives me a great balanced sound, listening mainly to prog- and avant rock.

Looks legit, same as my pair coming from a official Dutch Sennheiser dealer (Redcoon). Unfortunately I have no QR-code on my box, that security measurement was implemented later on.

Mark, I think you should look into the real JVC tips. By far the best tips I've ever heard. I want to grab some from Japan but the shipping if a bit steep.... Never heard the 1Plus2 sound better. As for the FX850s . Not to mention the best seal.

Looks legit to me. By the way, can one detach the cables that is pull out the plastic V shaped thinngy.? I would like to replace the cables for various reasons if possible and want to know what kind of socket is used by Senns  so I cna order the kind of cable I want.

So for the second time the cables have failed, so I am looking for a replacement cable. I messaged the place where I bought them, who are Sennheiser's importers, and they said it'd cost 50€-60€ for the official cable. Nope. For that price I might as well get better ones that don't fail so often. Any tips or suggestions? The same price range would be great as well as international shipping. I've looked up the following items:
