Are you talking about Note 3?After some early testing between the exynos and the snapdragon, I find the exynos is better then the snapdragon in SQ.

I have the snapdragon Note 3. I find that if Google Play Music is running in the background, then Poweramp's SQ is degraded significantly. I disable Google Play Music (so that it doesn't open itself) when I intend to use Poweramp. I imagine it's different when using a separate DAC.
There are times when the SQ of the Note 3 (using Poweramp) seems to degrade for reasons that I have not been able to link to a causation. I guess because it is a complicated smartphone with 44 background processes running at any given time that I clear the RAM (who knows?). I do know (for the first few days) it sounded great. However, yesterday, my Galaxy S2 sounded better. The S2 has a real slimmed down ROM on it that I got off of XDA Developers.
I agree with you, that is why I use the Apex glacier with my Note 3.
It gives me an excellent sound, until I get the Sony ZX1, its my favorite portable.

I'll be glad when my OTG cables get delivered. I bought two kinds; the standard micro-USB and the one with the Note 3 connection. Will either work or must it be the Note 3 specific one?
update:
Samsung Note 3 snapdragon works with Dacport LX , only when using Google Music player!!!
That makes me conclude that google is really using a separate kernel for USB in its player, as per UARP.
The least favorable player!!
Another update : if you leave the google play music player running in the background, all other players will work!
Neutron , Poweramp Player Pro, Samsung player.

The extra pins on USB 3.0 connectors is only ground and superspeed transmit + and -, and superspeed receive + and -.
They will be unused without a USB 3.0 device connected. So it should not matter at all.
USB3 is compatible with the old micro USB2 standard, so no need for a new otg cable.
I use my old micro USB.
This will work just fine.
This is very interesting. Can you try different sample rates and see if the DAC sample rate indicator changes at all?
By kernel, I think you mean driver.
My Dacport LX has no indicators, so I connected it to my Asus Essence muses xonar one, and strangely in all songs and bit rats it stuck on 48!
Only USB recorder pro was able to change to the appropriate sample rate!
Any ideas?
Also the stock samsung player get out a max rate of 48 khz?
In other post I read that stock player + fiio e17 have an output of 96khz.
