Sorry guys, i found the solution.. which is VERY STUPID...its so stupid ahh.. Turns out that the cable between my OTG and PHA-1 is the culprit!! at first i used a shorter USB-Micro cable cause the one that came with Sony was too long.. the clicks was obvious.. thinking it's a software/phone issue, i try to find the solution through settings and such... Then I switched to the brand new USB-Micro cable, the clicks were less and softer.. what the heck!! Anyways, i'm now using my original xperia Z charging cable, and now the clicks are gone, just ocassionally once per song..  Thank God.
 
So good cables are important!! even in digital format...... now i'm a believer, I need to find good quality USB-micro and OTG cables now..
 
Btw, sometimes changing songs with the DAC, my phone will just freeze up until i turn off the dac.. any ideas on this? i'm using poweramp - Xperia Z- PHA-1 - EX1000.. Yes, i'm a Sony fanboy LOL...

No, I dont't. Frankly, i don't believe in hearing these differences at all. In fact, I don't believe anyone can hear it, if tested properly.

Seriously. First, I don't have the right material to compare (i.e. the same studio-quality super-hi-res recording, professionally converted to 24/192 and 16/48), for ABX testing). Second, I don't have any super-hi-end components in my set up, like USD 10K heaphone amplifiers or USD 5K headphones.

However, having said this, what I CAN hear even in this modest portable set up is the difference in 24/192 files played via HiFace DAC in native resolution and bit depth via UARP, and the same files played through another software, resampled to 16/48. Which for me is enough to justify adding another piece to the set up.

So far, like the quad-core Exynos powered Galaxy S3, the quad-core Exynos powered Samsung Galaxy Note II can work with the FiiO E7, the iBasso D12, Leckerton UHA-6S MKII, the ODAC, … ; had some issue with the HeadAmp Pico (bug fixed by HeadAmp); and doesn’t work with the FiiO E17 using the stock USB audio driver.
 
So, in regard to the USB protocol, the behaviour of the Galaxy Note II is likely identical to the behaviour of the Galaxy S3.

Anyone feels the type of music app used for Android USB/OTG -> External DAC matters? I'm on Galaxy S4 - Google edition -> Power Amp -> Leckerton UHA-6S MKII -> SoundMagic HP100. I have tried Neutron player, too, but don't notice a significant improvement. The sound is good but I feel it could be better.

2013 model, CM 10.2, and yes that one. Too bad its only 48/16, but most of my music is 44/16 anyway. It sounds very, very good, and it isn't too far off from my ESS9018 DAC.
 
It even drives very sensitive headphones pretty well on its own.

If the SII allows USB OTG without any issues and provides power, it should possibly work (with android 4.2.2+). The key lies in having android 4.2 or higher.
 
My Nexus 4 doesn't work directly, because it cannot provide power to it. I'm waiting on an OTG y-cable which I believe should allow it to work just like the Nexus 7 (with a USB OTG kernel).
