I don't think it will get a whole lot better than the HT-21 for less than $40 in a similar form factor. If you're willing to go circumaural there's the Senn HD428 - you can usually get refurbs on ebay for $30 or so. Otherwise you can try PortaPros or something to see if you like the signature better than the HT-21.

Well, I gave the HT21's to my co worker but I realized it's not that bad for being so cheap so I told him I'll get him something cheap, he's not a audophile so I just need to get him something for like 20 bucks and under, I was thinking about the coby 185 or something silimar or even some skullcandy low riders....I like the ht21 but I want something a little better looking, I feel out of place when the other guys have these expensive headphones.

Sony PQ2. I think I paid ~$20 for mine. Sounds better than the CV185 and cool-looking if your coworker is into that sort of style.

I found the Superlux HD668B for 30€, is that a steal or should I be able to get better cans for that price? Would mostly be used for stationary use.

also i dont care about clarity i just like bass and durability. I even found the m31 amazing.
