It seems like you don't mind sacrificing portability so unless isolation is important I'd go with the HTF600. Reasoning as follows: the HD668B probably won't have enough bass, the DJ100 might not have enough bass, the K81,M750, and V6 don't have the presentation you'd likely want for gaming, and that's far too high a price for the SHO9560. Between the CAL! and HTF600 I still think the Panasonics would work better for you unless you plan to wear these outside a lot.

Thanks for advice, a couple more quicker questions now.

1. What's the best bass heavy headphone above which doesn't have to compromise for gaming?
2. What's the best gaming headphone above that doesn't have to compromise for dubstep/hip-hop ect.

3. I'm also looking for headphones to wear while I'm at the gym, I'm either going to get the HTF600s then some other portable ones (probably another £30), OR which of the headphones above actually have decent portability?  (I'd be prepared to pay upto £60, because if I got the £30 ones I'd need some other £30 ones for gym). Are the CALs, K81s, DJ100, M750 and V6 the only truly portable ones? I think it's pretty much a choice between those 5, I don't want to buy the Panasonics then another pair of more portable ones.

1. The HTF-600. It's not as bassy as a K81 or M750 but should have plenty of impact for most

3. The HTF-600, CAL!, and DJ100 are all unsuitable for gym use in my opinion. Not only are they large, they also don't clamp the head all that much. The K81 and M750 would probably be best for the gym.

Thanks for the help, looks like I'm going to have to compromise and get a K81/M750 (I'm only a poor teenager), anything will be a massive upgrade over my second.

What are the primary differences between these two headphones (e.g. bass, clamp ability and general soundstage). This will be my last question, great work you've done here .

Leaning towards M750s for better bass and tight clamp. Although some people are saying that the clamp is too tight and quickly gives them headaches, although I have a narrow head so it should be fine? I think if it's too tight the band is also prone to snapping.

your saying jvc m750 ? cant say about them , but if you are on bass , try the xb500 , .
why im talking bass ? god knows , cuz none of my headphones are bass hog , my 203 sounds ten time stronger then my ad700 and 15 times on my hd449 !!! joker says they are nice , jvc are nice brand , go get it .

The K81 clamps more than the JVCs IMO but is also less comfortable. Both have good bass. Really either one should do but I would not get the AKGs unless you know that supraaural (on-ear) fitment doesn't bother you.

I've never tried the MDR-570LP, only the MDR-770LP (which I did not like).

Joker, I'm looking for a portable headphone.
Budget is below 40 dollars and I was seriously considering Panasonic htf600 but then it's not portable. 
Emphasis on bass, or you can say an improvement over the brainwavz M2(felt bit cluttered but loved its bass).
I'm also considering the Portapro but I'm wondering if i can get something better.

The PortaPro is always a good option but if you want bass impact more like a bassy IEM you may want to look at something not quite as open. You can get a Pioneer SE-MJ5 for around $40 on eBay, or look at the Panasonic RP-HTX7.

most, if not, all ES models doesn't really isolate well, same thing with CAL!/d1001/d1100 models because of various reasons like clamping, cup material used, material of pads used, etc.
 
to answer your question, yes, the ESW9 peforms well even unamped. I tried it before using T51 unamped and they sound great. if you listen at low volumes, you'll still hear outside noise so you might need to crank up the volume to block the noise. also when listening at loud volume IIRC the ESW9 leaks sound as well, but only a bit.

Should be okay except on a small head. I think the fit is a bit more secure than average.

When are you gonna do an official review of your HFI-780s? After 300+ hours, DT 250 pads, and venting the drivers I think I've found my personal cure for upgraditis -- now it's time to get an amp *cough*.
 
I guess I just need some validation against the headphones in your review so I don't go crazy mulling over the possibilities! After all, this thread is what spurred me into the Head-Fi craze.
