  Same thing I felt the day I got my He Audio Jade and still 5 years later it sounds as good as it ever did. I'm kind of surprised that it's #7 on this list of headphones considering it wasn't produced in large quantity like the newer Hifiman hp's but I still haven't heard anything better.

 
I'm jealous! I think when HIFIMAN was developing the Jade 2, they just switched gears and turned it into the HE1000. XD

So there's still a Jade 2 prototype? Because I saw the first Jade 2 prototype, and it looked like the HE1000 prototype, which is why I thought he scrapped the Jade 2 to turn it into the HE1000.

That's not really a thing to hold against it as a headphone worth listening to especially when pizza is involved.

I hope so.  An improved Orpheus... I haven't even heard the Orpheus.

I'd say if they wanted to, but it doesn't seem like a business decision they're likely to make.
 
(There are unconfirmed rumors of a freakishly expensive Orpheus successor, though.)

Oh, but this new version (from last year) of the rumor is even juicier thanks to that $40-50K price tag.
