I've also ordered a pcstep from Jan/Meier Audio. I've long been interested in his well regarded Amps and this seems like a perfect opportunity to finally try one. I kind of wished it rocked a rechargeable, lithium battery, but it's not a big deal.

The problem with a right angle cable with a stiff cord, is it will put pressure on the usb socket.

So far, like the quad-core Exynos powered Galaxy S III, the new quad-core Exynos powered Samsung Galaxy Note II can work with the FiiO E7, the iBasso D12, Leckerton UHA-6S MKII, the ODAC, … ; had some issue with the HeadAmp Pico (bug fixed by HeadAmp); and doesn’t work with the FiiO E17 using the stock USB audio driver.
 
So, in regard to the USB protocol, the behaviour of the Galaxy Note II is likely identical to the behaviour of the Galaxy S III.

I have a Dzero coming (borrowing) and I have a PCstep incoming.  Should have both in the next couple weeks. My main use will be via S3 to my FXZ200/S500.   But I would like to hear more impressions about the Dzero as well.

I have both the HRT microStreamer and the dZero together for a very short while. Comparatively I think the microStreamer is more alive, musical and organic so I sold the dZero.

I also like using my Note II for volume control, with the dZero volume can be controlled from the phone and dZero itself and independently of each other, kind of confusing and not sure if that is the most optimal way to control volume.
