Where do the ZMF Atticus lie on this list? I've seen it compared a lot to the TH-X00 & TH900 in reviews but with better quality and cleaner bass.
By "cleaner" are they meaning less bass ?

I'm just quoting what I saw and read on reviews but I took it to mean less muddy
Many consider lots of bass as muddy.

Just bought the iDSD Black Label, anything I should know before I receive it?

1. The turbo setting with Xbass on is not for 98% of headphones, lol. It is only for those that can handle the juice. The SZ2000 is one of those.

2. Prepare yourself for a super long session the first time you use it, because you're going to want to test every song you have with it.

How does your iDSD affect the SZ2000 other than just the bass? If at all?

I'm a big fan of its DAC as well as its amp. It has a very dark background, and it doesn't really color your sound unless you use the Xbass or 3D switches. It leaves me able to utilize my EQ and really get what the sound I want, be it neutral or V shaped.

What I have heard from reviews is that the new Black Label grants a certain warmth, with new Xbass+ and 3D+ switches.

I'm aware, that's just what I have heard...

That wasn't meant in a bad way. I was just saying I couldn't agree or disagree as I've yet to hear the Black Label.

Can someone explain to me what the 3D does? I'm assuming the Xbass is just their own vernacular for hardware bassboost.

Yep, the Xbass is just a hardware bass boost. The 3D setting, according to iFi, recreates a holographic sound field like listening to a pair of speakers. It really does add a wider and deeper sound stage to headphones that are lacking that. But on headphones like my M1060 with great sound stage on their own, I leave the 3D off as it sounds a bit fake.
