The one basshead HP I've heard--and liked--but haven't owned is the Fostex TH-900 mk2. Scared off a little by reports of hot trebles. But I think it's time.

It is a little hot, if you like warm headphones then this isn’t for you. If you like clarity and bright leaning headphones then you might be ok. My wa33 softened up the trebles a bit.

Luckily my daily driver of almost 14 years, Denon d7000 are similar to the th900 mk2 without the slightly hot treble

Totally agree, its too hot in the treble. But i think this is more of a resonance issue than anything.

I find alot of the times, the plastic used in the headphones causes high frequency resonance. Might be able to dampen some of that and reduce the sharpness of the treble.

In the past I've used fo.q tape but sadly they've discontinued it.

I'd say it's easily anything by John Massaria. The XTC2.5 I'm listening to right now are bassy AF.

If you can find a pair nowadays in the classifieds they are well worth it. Still have mine for over 12 years and had them and the Fostex 900 at the same time - so close to each other (no surprise, built by Foster) but I still liked the D7000 better.

Does anyone remember the extra bass series Sony released? I remember that line to be particularly nice for bass heads
As an owner of the entire original lineup (XB300, XB500, XB700, and XB1000), yes, I remember

I remember I owned the xb500 as a child in middle school for a while. I had this crappy fiio amp and I would blast YouTube bass boosted songs on the way to school. Absolutely hilarious retrospectively. I am not sure what happened in my childhood life where I needed that much slam for crappy rap songs lol! I would very much love to A/B these with some of the headphones I've owned in my adult life. It'd be a fun trip down memory lane.

Yeah, audiophiles need not apply, lol. Ludicrous headphones for sure. I have limitless appreciation for more sober headphones, as well, but sometimes there's just no substitute for a great big fun stinky bass riot.

If I could only own one headphone for the rest of my life, it definitely wouldn't be an XB. But mercifully in this reality I can own as many headphones as I want, so you can pry my XB1000 from my cold dead hands, because when I have that particular itch, nothing else can scratch it.

Denon Urban Raver AH-D320 Review | PCMag

The bassiest headphone I have ever heard it’s almost laughably bassy lol.
