So we already know that one summit-fi headphone (TH900) is bass cannon status which is fantastic. I am wondering if anyone has tested the LCD-2 yet (aka "Planar King of Bass" as claimed on head-fi). Maybe they can play in the same ballpark as the TH900 and SZ2000?

Notes & Thoughts

Never saw the "TH" Bash brothers coming. I have heard and been impressed but it took an owner to put them through the motions to confirm that they are not only epic audiophile cans they have enormous low end power.
If you're a basshead and want your cake (bass) and eat it too (Hi fidelity sound along with it)...the TH series wait for you...and your money

Every can on this list is owned by a single owner and were compared in exactly the same manner. On the ear to confirm what the Paper test shows. That's a nice visual to enjoy. The settings were identical. Personal bias was overcome. I know 1 user who would have loved to have seen those hand glazed cups at #1. Never think this is about anything but bass. Lotta work and communication goes on that you never see.  Most thought out comprehensive, accurately compared list of bass cans on the internet by a very wide margin.

Enjoy.

Wow,  like 2 highly skilled ninja assassins.  The Fostex bros tried to take over the land of bass overnight.  They would have succeeded if it wasn't for the king of bass, the sz2000.

Well they qualify for "Ninja" since I never saw them coming

The attack for the crown was so legit a special battle was made just to try and hold onto the throne. That they made the list was a surprise . That the bigger brother with a basshead test slope and track gave the sz2k a very good run ...the best so far was a jaw dropper. WOW.

Sorry for the delayed response. Never had time to respond with all this work. I don't use a external amp because i can't be arsed to carry around anymore in my pocket other than my wallet, keys, and phone. I'll drop some change for one in the winter when i have more pockets haha. Don't want to be wired so much either.

The previous models are probably better yes, but i'm basing my opinion from a price-to-enjoyment standpoint. Right now XB500's are $83 used, XB700 $160-180 used, and XB1000 $390. I got my XB800s after a couple of weeks of research on here a year ago between the XB series and other bass headphones. Only spent $50 bucks and i feel like i got what i paid for and then some. Not to mention for a daily pair of headphones, they are withstanding the test of times. I use them whenever i'm playing singleplayer games or don't want to be bothered to talk on my xbox as well and i get pretty good results as well.

Here's a screenshot of my settings

My posts have to be approved to be posted so i can't edit it right now, but i approved of the Krakens. I owned a pair earlier this year and @ $30 bucks, they are a bargain for sure. Crappy quality design however. Mine broke 3 months into ownership before i had to buy a new pair.

Edit: opps i thought it would be awhile before it would get approved and i can't figure out how to delete this and move it to the other post. Sorry ahead of time!

I'm thinking you are referring to CB... But didn't i introduce CB to you in the first place? Either way, I'm just glad I can contribute to the bass... I've got a pair of 40mm cans coming. Getting them by next week at the latest. Maybe a battle of the 40mm cans is in order? Or should we just stick to the big boys for bass battles? I was thinking kraken Vs... Dun da dun!... Logitech UE6000's. There's the 40mm can. Anyways, is a kraken VS UE6000 battle approved? Maybe the other 40mm's could join in on the carnage. Have the perfect sound dido's (does anyone even have a pair here?) and the beats pros, sennheiser HD 8 DJ, M-Audio Q40's, beats mixr, and whatever else 40mm cans there are.
