heya all bassheads,

I've been listening to the FOTM uber hyped Monoprice M1060 open back planar headphones, and its bass extension just keeps going and going and going like an energizer bunny

since I am unable to find thread search function, has this headphone been discussed in this thread? and if so, the general consensus?

Probably not ... From what I recall, planar magnetic drivers don't have nearly as impact and overall quantity as regular dynamic magnets (though only ones I've tried were the audeze's so don't take my word for it)

Maybe you could do a paper test as shown on the first page to see if they're basshead level amounts of bass?

Exactly, it's all about the paper test. But I'd love it if the M1060 actually could be both open and for bassheads.

I posted a thread but got beats recommended to me and right as i was gonna give up i found this thread. I use my galaxy s5 and pc with a sound blaster. What is the best i can do for about 50-100 max?

I havnt done the "Paper " test but Ill say the TH900s bass hits very low. Plus its bass hits hard aswell.

Monster Npulse over ear. Don't let the name scare you. it is well worth it's price and will run of a phone

Good thing about a video of basscans is I can just say "go look at the vid" If they say I couldn't find one, I can say, if they slammed someone woulda made one ...so...they are apparently not basshead...yet

The last time I checked it was $129 and was $99 during a sale. For that price and your needs (phone)...I rec that set.

I own Digital Design headphones.


I always wanted to type that.


They sound really nice. Was expecting a novelty offer from a famous subwoofer company and got a beautiful great sounding set of cans. Bass is enough to crack top 10 but until I switch pads I cannot do a vid. vibrates my face and tickles my ears and slams but pads too soft like original SZ so a test will have to wait
