The Taction Kannon Kickstarter succeeded! Congrats to bassheads everywhere!

That's awesome to hear! James and Mike are really nice, humble guys, and they've got a genuinely good product there. I'm really happy for them.

Yeah so I was thinking ill keep the e17k for on the go and then if I do need more power ill grab something like the K5 for Home (I would be doing most of the listening at home anyways)

Is there a big difference between the J.V.C HA-SZ2000 and the SZ1000's ?

The price difference between the two would almost pay for the K5

I just moved from Sony's MDR X10 to SZ2K. Had FiiO Q1 which I first thought should be enough but man E18 just blows Q1 away and I am telling this because on paper Q1 and E17K seems to be having similar output power. Upon mailing FiiO regarding E18's Output power, they replied

Kindly inform you that as most headphones' resistances are 16/32 ohm, we test these two as reference. 16~150 ohm is recommended. If you headphone is inside this range, the sound will be great.

32ohm~ 306mW
16ohm~409.5mW
300ohm~33.7mW.

Technically I could've bought E12 and used it alongside Q1 but I didn't want to carry multiple devices.

Yeah, it seems they took the M50 and the ATs and just modded them. Not sure if they will use the same drivers or not. I just hope they sound good. Hopefully I'll get to experience them once they release it.

For basshead like in the videos the bass loses it's **** and just tones out like one loud test tone.before my ears go ****ed and ring.
The sz2k will keep going till my ears reach their limit.

Doubt many folks would ever notice it. If you come from car audio you might want the comfort of the sz2k in the extreme that a iFi micro in Turbo and eq'd would do.  Otherwise the sz1k is an exact clone but more comfy and much cheaper.

I have the same problem, but I use XB950 + FiiO A3 amp. Is It the amp or is it the drivers that are clipping?

That's the driver.
Clipping with portable amp will usually sound like sound cut offs at extreme bass hits like it's cutting the top off the hit. That's a driver distorting. 35-55 Hz is the graveyard for many cans.

This is an e18 clipping. Just after the 20 second mark it has couple drops that you can hear. Like a record skipping cuz I am asking it to throw voltage it does not have.

That's right. Been playing Dark Souls III last week. Sound is incredible on my home theatre (with a JL Audio F-113 subwoofer). But then when I play it with my headphone (which plays other games with no problems), the bass started to clip / distort. Not sure what From Software did to the bass - the headphone is just fine (T5p) with other games. I guess I really need Foster 900 - has anyone tried it for gaming and what are your impressions? Thanks!
