Audiophile can?

Unless...

This is have you're cake (bass) and eat it too (overall build and response curve)

start saving bro:D

I meant an open backed audiophile can to complement the SZ1K... Tho I am gonna try the TH-900 in 9 days at a meet, so who knows? Could just fall in love!

Cb3723 was banned?

Anyway, I enjoy reading this thread. I have a hfi580 myself, no bass cannon but they're alright on the right songs. Good stuff. Thanks for the videos. :)

I had them

Good stuff off a iphone or something but chokes and pukes at amped 30-45Hz signals like A LOT of cans.
Clamping force was vice like but that coulda been fixed. They just wouldn't go into basshead mode (it no like amp)

The next bass can list is still be worked on

Thanks for the comment

JVC HP-DX1000

This got skipped over cuz it was a dream crushed as I wanted these someday but have reserved myself to the thought of a T1 as my audiophile can when my life hits relax in a chair mode.

I'm not even close to that yet

The Denon series is not on the list coming soon as they are like the Dx1000....solid bass and generally good lines (response)
I have seen other threads where a paper test was mentioned but not shown cuz it looks like the vid above. We really just moved along quickly cuz there is nothing to see there.....literally nothing to see.

The Fostex brothers have shown audiophile cans CAN blast your head.  You can feel and you can see it proving you can indeed feel it. That's not the case with the DX1000 or any number of Denon. Do they (Denon) give a ****? Surely not. I doubt they were designed to slap your face anyway.

Notes & Thoughts

The bass paper test is just a visual of what is heard and felt on ear.  It's pretty damn accurate. The cans you think will do well usually do and the ones that you don't think will... often don't.
Thanks to the folks that participate and take the time to show new ways to get to basstopia.
If I had a set of cans that hit harder than one on the list I'd do it in a heartbeat, share the exact settings and let my vid replace 500 words of stuff already said about can "A".

If you can lounge around threads talking about not too much really... you could put a face to the bass. I'll eventually get to em' anyway .

_______
Oh I'm not playing that game...it's dumb

or

**plays dumb game...kicks major azz .....and waaaalks away laughing**
______

I'd do the 2nd one cuz I'm competitive like that.

Folks..
There wasn't a wiki or a list to even argue about much less anyone even trying to be creative with an easy to mimic way of showing low energy force.  Nada. Just words.

If you disagree with the list be a productive member and shave 5 minutes off your life showing something.  If you're not a basshead you should just enjoy the view. I don't troll Stax threads or any other thread that is not in my range of interest. This thread is 149 pages of non flaming and name calling. It's been great sans 4 events and one needed a mod and 3 were worked out among adults and self edited. If you have a bad moment I'll ask you to get a hold of yourself
(it happens...we all get wound up sometimes) if you don't edit I'll flag ya and the folks who need to know ...they know this thread is clean. It will stay that way. You have the tracks and EXACT settings from multiple hardware sources. You can enjoy the view or play along. It will get put on the list if exact settings are shared and it can be confirmed. This list....it sells. I'm not even trying to do that but my PM gets filled up.Folks wanna see. They know what they are looking at and you can even hear ****ty mids in the vids. The 57mm all have asstasstic mids..??? Why? Dunno but many of them hammer.

I have been thinking about getting the SuperLux, but I notice that they are on ear. Would my Kraken pads fit on them?

http://www.ebay.tv/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_sop=10&_nkw=superlux&_frs=1

they seem to be about the size of the 700mk2 and apparently have an aftermarket so they are changeable. Not sure if they could be switched with Kraken?
Going for 30 bucks right now.
Superlux is a really trippy company. I have heard garbage and greatness from them (actually most companies do that

Do any of the Audeze cans qualify? Like LCD 2?

Do any of the Audeze cans qualify? Like LCD 2?

They are audiophile cans and outstanding in their own right. Folks like gelocks and other current/former owners have mentioned them being outstanding at detail retrieval but a bit less so in moving air when compared with other dynamic driver cans which blow lots of air but suck in a sonic comparison with Audeze. These are just being judged on force/impact/level of low frequency energy reached before audible distortion.
Many a happy bass head with 2.2's I am told.

Who would take a Superlux over an Audeze? HiFiMAN?
Nobody who's not nutz  but this thread isn't about anything except bass

Sorry if it's been asked guys - does anybody know of replacement pads for the Krakens? I feel like X55's may fit but I'm looking for something more soft like velour.

I know that Razer sells replacement pads http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-ear-cushion  They also have foam pads. The 55x looks like they would fit. For velour, these look nice http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-EDT770V-Headphone-Pads-Silver/dp/B0016MMYKA?tag=donations09-20  . I also found some aftermarket replacements that look nice.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/High-quality-Cushion-Ear-Pads-earpad-For-KRAKEN-Gaming-Game-Headset-Headphones-/171445733573?
