David, could you revisit your entire work. I don't think your esteem of my current headphone is high enough.
+1
But it's a marmite thing with Grado's. Maybe if he had heard the Rev2's...?
(Fantabulous thread and reviews. Mr Mahler should receive some kind of award me thinks!)
Thank you!
I'll make a list of all the headphones that I'd ultimately would like to include in order to make evaluation list even more complete. At this time, I'm taking a break both from the writing and the spending But I'd ultimately like to include the following headphones/earphones
Audio Technica: L3000
Beyerdynamic: DT990
Denon: AH-D7100
Grado: PS1
Grado: PS500
HifiMan: HE400
JVC: DX1000
Sennheiser: HE60 (Baby Orpheus)
Sony: CD3000
Stax: Sigma Pro
Taket H2+
Maybe also a few other in-ears as well....I used to own quite a few etymotics, other UE's and Sonys...
The problem is, within the next 5 years, i suspect there will be between 10-20 worthy addition new contenders and as such.... the project will never end
Edit: also the Koss ESP950
David,
Could you comment on the bass extension and impact of the LCD2 vs the HE-6?

k601 maybe?
This was an amazing Head-Fi experience, thanks! Will there be future updates--PS500 maybe?
When the HE-6 is properly driven the HE-6 offers a very tactile feeling, not only in the bass, but throughout the frequency response. The LCD-2 is a warmer headphone and feels "bassier" ... in terms of extension, both extend very well, and I think based on my experience with different amps, the HE-6 extension and impact will depend very much on how you drive it. There have been a few people in this thread who presume that if I had a different amp, I would find even more in favor of the HE-6. Of course, this may or may not be true, but I'm much more than satisfied with the Woo 5 pairing. I think its one of the best sounding combos in the world and a ranking of #9 in my my whole collection is not, by any means, meant to insinuate that i think the HE-6 is not marvelous. Similarly, the LCD-2 being at #12 in my ranking is not a declaration of the HE-6 being universally superior. I'd hope the rankings supply a basic outline of my opinions, but I try to keep my descriptions and criticisms more open ended than my rankings so that should the reader's listening preferences be dissimilar to my own, they can still get a sense of how the headphone may appeal to their preferences.
so the Dt880 and the HE-500 is about the same type of headphone? or i am wrong?
So would you say, that with your setup, the HE-6 was overall more tactile than the LCD-2?
