The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

I've had the TH900 MK2 and the MDR-Z1R. Both good in their own rights, but also let down in others.

I suspect I'm out of options. Closed back above those are basically Stellia and Verite Closed afaik. And some Ultrasone variants no-one buys.
Pioneer SE-Monitor5 might be worth a look, but there are so few owners and impressions it's impossible to get any sort of idea.

It's been a while since I auditioned it, but I do remember it being mostly excellent aside from a slight wonkiness in the upper mids.
Bass wasn't massively thunderous but it was all there... possible similar to DT770/DT1770.... but like I said, it's been a while :/

I havn't heard it, but the Campfire Cascade is one of the 'bassiest bois' around - for some, obnoxiously so - that much is clear from the frequency response graphs.

Had the Cascade for a bit too. Very bassy, but also a bit too V and unrefined up top for me.

How strong do you feel the bass in the crossfade 2? I research a lot and in this forum they eveybody was saying that the bass in the m100 is much better than the CFW2, even there was a lot of complain about that.
I have both. I put vModa XL pads on both. I have enjoyed the M100 but Crossfade 2 Wireless when used with a cable has better bass than the M100 in my opinion. By "better" I mean they can hit harder without distortion than the M100.

Has anyone experimented with different pads for the XB700 or XB1000? I know 1:1 replacements are available on eBay, but I can't help but feel like they won't always be, and I would be interested to hear what other commonly available pads are usable and what affect they have on sound, etc.

Does anybody nows if the Sennheiser HD 650 have a good punching bass. It's the most bass heavy from sennheiser 600 line, but i'm afraid that anyway is not hard enought.

I'm looking foward to try them
Depends. If you want a neutral sound with a warm-ish tint then yeah. If you are a bass head then no, not even close.

Bassheads like us need the thunder from the universe, redirected into our skulls, then punched in with brute force. If you dont feel the bass, your not living.

This is a list of the headphones with the best bass, IMO. They are categorized by their respective price brackets.

Note: Some of these headphones are straight-out bass cannons, whilst others have quality bass. I will probably provide a more structured and detailed list sometime in the future.

The headphones in bold + italics are discontinued; however, if you can get a hold of some of them, you will be a very happy camper.

Nice list. I would add the 1More H1707 (triple-driver over ear) into that list though. It has a lot more sub-bass than the Sony 1AM2 (although a bit less mid-bass) and is a lot tighter, faster and more textured. If the 1AM2 is regarded as a basshead (its just bassy to me though, not basshead levels from my iem standards) headphone, then the 1AM2 is a quality basshead headphone. :joy:

Just wondering if you or anyone can answer this question though.

Denon AH-D1100 vs Creative Aurvana Live! SE
Which one would be better as a basshead headphone that is worth having if you already got the Sony 1AM2 and the 1More H1707?

(D1100 costs around 70 usd and the CAL!SE is at around 95 usd for me, both new)

I'd be interested in a paper test. :L3000:

Does anyone know where I can find a FR graph for the XB700 or XB1000? I'm having trouble EQ'ing mine and I think an FR graph would give me a head start on getting mine just right for me.

I had both for a while. Never changed the pads though. In retrospect I wish would've tried swapping them out on my xb-1000s because I never felt like I unlocked their potential. They always seemed mysteriously flat for headphones with drivers the size of my face.
