The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

I've come down with an illness bug this week. Can't smell any scents, and can't hear any midbass. Anyway, can any of you bassheads relate to stuff like this? Did you ever have a cold or an illness that "plagued" your basshead headphone hobby for several days?

Yes, I am suffering from it due to allergies at the moment. IEM's sound like crap at the moment. My sz2000 don't sound right either and no amount of EQ can fix it.

I had the flu a while back and went 4 or so days with no headphones at all. 4 days without good tunes doesn't sound like a lot, but man, it felt like forever, lol.

Agreed. With congested ears, I can use my EQ app to make my M-100s sound so-so, but not great. Lots of detail is missing from the music...until I recover, and until my ears get unclogged. My headphones sound like a cheaper pair right now.

Hi all, anyone know where to buy decent replacement pads for XB500/700/1000? I bought some 500 pads from a random ebay seller, though good quality they're just not as fat or soft as the originals. Searching for 'genuine' doesn't return any hits. Thanks!
There are no originals. The only thing to do it cut open the back of the oem and new and swap the foam out and reseal with tape/glue/sewing.

The Cayin C5 is always a good option at $130. 800mW a channel @ 32ohm with a physical bass-boost switch.

I had the Cayin C5 but had to return it because it just failed one day ... It started out with it cutting out sometimes, and I'd have to turn it on and off to make it work. Eventually it just stopped turning on and I returned it to mass drop since Cayin doesn't have a warranty per se. I would buy it again if they upped their quality control a little :frowning2: i liked the sound a lot

The Fiio A5 is nice as well - same specs and price (though you can probably find it cheaper) as the Cayin. Bass boost switch too.

I have the FiiO E10K right now, how does the A5 fair against it? The E10K is fine for some stuff but compared to the Cayin, i felt it made the bass sound funky (almost loose?) where as the cayin was tighter.

Hmm, this is my first Fiio, so I really could not tell you. I only use the bass boost when I am wearing my SZ2000s and want some bass abuse - I am not really judging the quality per se. All of my other 'phones I prefer to listen to flat and the Fiio is mighty fine in that regard.

God I hate these BLUEDIO UFO lol

Had to whore it out to kill time.

Xb1000 + hm5 round XL sheepskin hybrid. It is all leather. Half the foam is memory foam (hm5) and the other half is 1/2 xb1000 pads. Ofc the memory foam is touching my face with nice squishy xb1000 pad foam below it like extra suspension. My ears are nice and comfy, and b/c its so squishy seals perfectly and forms to my head perfectly. To extract......

I think I'm going to try out the C5 again, but now considering the A5 since it has good power. Can anyone compare the two? I'm assuming both will drive most headphones fine but not sure how the bassboost sounds like when compared to each other.

Also, I found this on Amazon which sounds intriguing for people who want something powerful but on a budget. Has similar power to the C5 but it's half the price. Has anyone dabbled?

Hey fellow Bassheads. I was given a Burson Play for review purposes and will write one up after burn in. But from the get go, this unit is an official HiFi Basshead desktop amp. The SZ2000 getting a nice work out for the next 100 hours.
