Dear Lord.
They have always been on the top ten list.
Forgive me for taking them off cannon status.
The Wiki was updated.

Thank you Bro

You'll need to change the pads if head slamming is what you are looking for.
Lotta cans need a tweak here and there. Denon, M-Audio, Grado....and on and on.
Consider the pad change of the sz to be a must.

77х/55x - are their pads identical? If yes, I can go for 77x and swap the 77x/sz2k pads after some listening. I also will try to use Superlux HD669 (50mm) pleather pads on sz2k, maybe they'll do fine too.

So July 16th is my birthday.

After picking my jaw up off the floor I told chick I wanted the Yamaha 500 for my birthday
biggrin.gif

I went out and had a listen today again.......and chose not to buy them yet but they are absolutely cannons.  They are among maybe 5 on the consumer market right now. How they do not have a much larger audience is beyond me? They are large as **** but musical as ****...think M100 on steroids....really good roids. Play anything and thump. I couldn't get the highs down in my short experience today but ...another day.

If JVC is too dark for ya the Yamaha 500 will give you a punch and good highs without the spike like in sones.

This is too loud ...this and the Yammy vid are hearing damage on film
It's not audible signal distortion but it's close

Note: The regular gain setting blows out the front. Today I turned it up to the edge of distortion and pulled it back a bit. Laid the paper on the pads and.....everything was blowing out the rear end?

The 77x and 55x are identical I'm fairly sure. I have swapped them between the sz and 77 (the sz xx come from the dead 55's) but I've had them off and interchaged them? They gotta be identical
Those pads in your pic look like firm pleather. That's pretty much all you need for maximum sub bass impact transfer

Hey, I've just realised - there's no bass/paper test for the 55's?

I've no idea how hard they hit - are they a top 10 contender?

What killed your 55's HBB?

I hope they are now in a better place.....the place in the sky, headphone heaven....or do bass cans go to headcan hell?

Did U treat them bad? I hope they didn't suffer

*the 55's - just a junior kid in the XX family - why do the children suffer the most in this cruel world...(sob)* ......:D

I must start this post with a huge thank you to everyone that has posted vids and proof of the JVC SZ-1000 headphones. In the last month, I have purchased a Fiio E17 Amp\DAC for my iPod, and the 1000's. I now have what I've been searching for.

I have 2 12" subs in my truck running off a 1200w amp. I love the BASS! I now have that in my headphones. With the treble set to +4, and the bass set to +10 on the Fiio, at 40 on the volume, I get that headshake I've always wanted. It's FANTASTIC! To anyone still hesitating, just do it!

Thank you.

I will post a vid when I get my computer back from repair, right now I only have my tablet.

Dude!

I'm choked & stoked that you have an awesome set up and are now experiencing the game changing, head vibrating awe of the JVC SZ1000 cans with an equally awesome amp that goes hand in hand as a portal to dig deep and deliver the reservoir of bass out of your new cans.

I'm not this threads curator - HBB is - and I don't speak for him, but I think he'd agree that the pay off to the bass/test uploaded videos as a unique visual demonstration of the various headphones that assists a member like your good self, Zman2k2 in assisting you make an informed choice of headphone and amp based on what you have seen with your own eyes, rather than just words of different opinions, is the success of this thread.

Enjoy your new bass terrorist rig dude and careful you don't dislodge any fillings when you drop the bass

Thanks for taking the time to say thanks - the big thanks really go to the OG Bass terrorist that started this thread and introduced a new visual concept of the bass/paper test - Hawaiibadboy - big thanx bro - U own the Extreme Bass Show

But enough of this backslapping & hi-5ing......Zman2k2, your journey to the dark side of extreme bass will be complete when you upload your bass/paper test video for the world to see as testament to the brethren of bass....

The Rebel base has long been destroyed and their remnants are scattered across the forumuverse. Folks are giving the sub-bass visual the weight it deserves....
(give it some...that really is bass
biggrin.gif
)

The dude who put up the Pro 500 vid did it in about 5 minutes and confirmed their cannon status. I could hear him snicker in the background cuz watching your own cans kick pulp  ass is pretty ******* entertaining.....and helpful If someone asks if the Yamaha Pro 500 really hit hard we can throw a video at them....I'm sure someone else will run in and throw a copied and pasted graph done by mostly strangers using hardware most may or may not own and measuring the acoustic properties of the drivers only and in a way not exactly like another site that puts out graphs (kinda like the flaws in the paper test)  if something is not done in the exact same way in all steps their will be some variety. Welcome to the real world of NOT scientists.

Thanks for the video flashback....Pump up that jam!!

That last model I posted in particular looks interesting, but it only has a 40mm driver... Though maybe carbon nanotube makes them stave off distortion longer to compare to 50mm regular diaphragm headphones? Idk. But jvc really seems to like their carbon.
