@ati832 Damn... Looks like you could wear a different headphone everyday for months and never have to use the same one twice.
You'll need to change the pads if head slamming is what you are looking for.
Lotta cans need a tweak here and there. Denon, M-Audio, Grado....and on and on.
Consider the pad change of the sz to be a must.
77х/55x - are their pads identical? If yes, I can go for 77x and swap the 77x/sz2k pads after some listening. I also will try to use Superlux HD669 (50mm) pleather pads on sz2k, maybe they'll do fine too.
The 77x and 55x are identical I'm fairly sure. I have swapped them between the sz and 77 (the sz xx come from the dead 55's) but I've had them off and interchaged them? They gotta be identical
Those pads in your pic look like firm pleather. That's pretty much all you need for maximum sub bass impact transfer
So July 16th is my birthday.
After picking my jaw up off the floor I told chick I wanted the Yamaha 500 for my birthday
I went out and had a listen today again.......and chose not to buy them yet but they are absolutely cannons. They are among maybe 5 on the consumer market right now. How they do not have a much larger audience is beyond me? They are large as **** but musical as ****...think M100 on steroids....really good roids. Play anything and thump. I couldn't get the highs down in my short experience today but ...another day.
If JVC is too dark for ya the Yamaha 500 will give you a punch and good highs without the spike like in sones.
This is too loud ...this and the Yammy vid are hearing damage on filmIt's not audible signal distortion but it's close
Note: The regular gain setting blows out the front. Today I turned it up to the edge of distortion and pulled it back a bit. Laid the paper on the pads and.....everything was blowing out the rear end?

I must start this post with a huge thank you to everyone that has posted vids and proof of the JVC SZ-1000 headphones. In the last month, I have purchased a Fiio E17 Amp\DAC for my iPod, and the 1000's. I now have what I've been searching for.
I have 2 12" subs in my truck running off a 1200w amp. I love the BASS! I now have that in my headphones. With the treble set to +4, and the bass set to +10 on the Fiio, at 40 on the volume, I get that headshake I've always wanted. It's FANTASTIC! To anyone still hesitating, just do it!
Thank you.
I will post a vid when I get my computer back from repair, right now I only have my tablet.
