I don't have a bass boost amp yet, but connecting the Asus Xonar U7 to the SR71B, using just the single ended output to the SZ2000, it is already pretty sick after some EQ. Would I get better bass with Soundblaster X7 or E5?

The minimum power amp would be the e18 for bass like in the videos but a FiiO e12,Cayin C5 would be ideal. An E5 did nothing with an SZ

Honestly with my C5 and Sz2000 there are times (not often) I switch the bass boost switch off and let all the EQ happen in software, that said the bass boost is usually on anyway.   I'm a C5 fan, on my second one, but I've never used a e12/e18. I am also the one who tried the SZ with the E5.

If you don't need a portable amp and it always stays near an outlet is try a nice desktop headphone amp without bass boost and do it all in software, For example I've gotten some of the best head-rattling bass out of the SZ i ever heard with a pretty nice tube amp which has no bass boost and just did all my EQ in software. So it's really the amount of power the amp can push is what is important

I do have a desktop amp for the HE1000, but it is too big to fit on the computer desk...  SR71B was already pretty awesome but I think I will try either C5 or E18.

I would also rec the C5 over the e18 like Vapman and if you were not Mr Money bags

with you HE1000 and the tabletop amp to push it I'd say get the iDSD micro and hit sub bass home runs with it everytime.

But at the price of the iDSD I would rather add a bit and go for the Mojo (I have yet to own any Chord offerings, stuff like Hugo and Mofo Mojo). Mojo paired with C5 can't lose right??

Optical -> Audio-GD NFB-28 -> LCD2.2F circa 2014 playing On My Level at full volume + 16dB bass boost below 80Hz is shaking the headband. Oh, what 6W will do :).

My non-f been sitting in the box in storage since I been on a iem binge.  thinking about selling them, just can't get myself to do it.  Not basshead levels by this threads standards, but something about them gives me a smile when I use them.
