If you are talking about a DAP, I don't think there is such a thing that combines both "good" and having a 4.4mm balanced connection.
But, if you are looking to get another dongle like the Dawn Pro, I won't be of much help here as I DO use portable, but not dongles. Having said that, there are quite a few people on here that have a good line of some of the best dongles on the market.
One thing that I wanted to point out, if you aren't familiar, is that all of these other budget recommendations are using the MX500 shell. Not that there is an issue with that, but if you haven't tried them before, they fit different than the type of shell like the EB2S (bell), and FF1, and etc...
This is not to put you off, but instead is just something to think about. As for me, I don't like MX500 shells. While they sound good, I have a hard time fitting them. Sure, I can wear them while sitting around the house mostly fine, but if I am out and about, they tend to work themselves out of my ears over a short time, so I have to constantly fidget with them.
But, in the end I think that you have gotten some really good recommendations on a decent budget set. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the ones mentioned. They all have their downsides in the grand scheme of things, but for the little money you pay for them, they will probably make you happy for some years (until you decide that there ARE much better out there and jump down the rabbit hole with the rest of us
).
