can we request for the 4.4mm balanced from aavck( or something, the seller on AE names) since they no longer sell the mmcx version?
Yes. When you place the order you can leave an order message. If you can't figure out how to do that, after placing the order, go to the message center and you'll see your order. Just write a message requesting 4.4mm balanced plug. They will probably write back and say something like only 4.4mm black version is available... just reply that is ok and you're set.

Hi. Any tips where i can get some foams for my Fiio FF5?
Best way is to message the FiiO AE store and tell them you would like to buy replacement FF5 foams. They will tell you to use the [Aftersale] Accessory/repair $1 purchase option and you leave a message with the type of foams (Bass / Balanced / Crisp) and quantity. I have not purchased extra FiiO foams, but I believe this is the correct procedure.

Yes, thanks so much for translating! I'm not that into beef usually, but these are making me drool... (not to the extent of blind splurging, however.)

What is the secret of the treble in the Serratus?
Serratus is not my cup of tea at all.
It's no secret, too much damping (for my taste)... It would be ideal to be able to get your hands on a pair of Blue Moon earbuds to see how the treble should be like... or much simpler, be my friend lol 😁

My daughter tells me that making friends is simple, but I've never been very good at it :)

To this day I have not shared the Bluemoon tuning with anyone, but it is true that for me they are the best treble that exists (IMO of course)

In the end it's about doing DIY to find settings that suit your personal tastes, in my case that's all, what does TGX do to get the treble in its serratus? Well, I don't know, but the question should be, what would you do so that that driver in that shell has the treble that you want?

It is clear that to achieve this there is only one recipe, try, try, try and try things, the things that you think are going to work, with experience you will have an idea of the basic path to follow, and then you will have to refine and refine until the result. be the desired one. It is important to be realistic, the driver has its own characteristics that will never change, if I don't like a driver... well, I don't expect miracles there.

Use google translate for images. Drag and drop or paste from clipboard an image.

Here's the image I posted before.

Top: white text is direct google image translation superimposed over the Chinese writing.
Bottom: neon purple is also google translated, but I copied the Chinese writing (can copy text in images on a Mac) and pasted into google translate.

Funny, the only translation difference between the 2 is Ox, Cow and Bull. I believe google translate gives a fairly accurate translation.

Blue Moon has the best treble extension that I have heard, apart from the ClieOS planar. Serratus had a treble peak that enhanced a sharpness but I'm almost certain Blue Moon has more air extension. I will compare to see.

I found a setup with Blue Moon that's warm such that I could take off the foams and still retain some reasonable bass extension. It goes quite dry but oh man was the air present. The imaging was pin point. Definitely a very capable driver (and tuning secret sauce).

Nice Ibis Fran, I somewhat wish my unit was MMCX too! A really special little earbud. Not as balanced as Blue Moon or as airy but has a special appeal to it in the midrange.

CVJ Seven Earbud.

Seems there are a few variants:
1) Pure music version - single DD
2) Gaming version - DD + vibration unit
3) Gaming version with boom mic

Price ranges from $39 USD to $49.99 USD depending on type chosen

We had a small discussion about that vibration unit and could not determine what it did for the sound. Now it's clear that it's intended to add ambiance in sound effects for gaming. The gaming buds might be weird to use for listening to music.
