Only the E12 is bass head material. The Cayin C5 is too, but not the dac combo version.
How is the Fiio A5 compare to the OG E12

Edit: ignore post, I replied when I first see this post and then realized it's been discusssd in following posts. So same rated output power and new opamp FTW!

It's not a true tube amp, if that's what you're trying to imply.

I don't believe he was at all. I think he was trying to help out people on a budget that want a good bit of juice to drive power hungry headphones on the cheap by modding a powerful speaker amp.

monoprice been in the game for a bit. It's not till recently had their gear made waves in headfi.

They make good stuff for a great price. I use all of their cables and wires for home and car audio.

With all that being said, if your priority is having bass boost, then I would stick with amps that are frequented around here.

Unless you want to test that amp for the greater good of the thread

At that sales price point I may partake ... But we'll see because I think at this point I'm going to bypass the $100 range amps and just save up for an ifi micro and be done with it lol

Nice pic.

No, I was trying to do a paper test with some serious power but couldn't make it work. i tried different drivers so opened em up and it is just wood cup with a plastic latice to hold the driver. No damp material or anything. Could be a bit of the extra length of cable behind the driver vibrating? I wasn't getting any distortion from the original drivers which i put back in as they seemed ideal.

After reading HBB's comment, you meant an abnormal rattle outside of the bass? That's odd. I've never dropped them or anything, and only did regular bass boosting EQ when I had them. Can't remember if I also heard rattle though.

Edit: Maybe a loose screw or cable like HBB mentioned? You may need to take it apart.
