Hello Mark, N3 is a marvelous DAP and IMO a steal at $150. You should jump on the N3 thread and see all the praise on it. Once again IMO the SQ of the N3 is easily worth the asking price.
Thank you Podster,
Will get an N3 as my Christmas gift to myself.
Do you have any experience with DSD ? Thinking to use the N3 as a file server and use an external DSD DAC. Have already ordered Ian's McFIFO (I2S/DSD) Kit to use with a DSD DAC.
LOL, how does that Brittany line go again.......................oh yeah "Oops I did it again". It is a very nice little player for the price and I hope you really enjoy it Mark
Have not really dabbled much in DSD and higher res files as what I've found is a good sounding file is a good sounding file even if done in 128 Mp3, of course who knows how much difference my tired old ears can actually hear The other consideration I have is just how much storage big high res files take up compared to SQ increase!
Forgot to mention and post that one of my personal favorite iem's sound killa on the N3
I wish I could find those trinity iems to buy. Just bought myself a Benjie s5 and a topping nx1 amp which should arrive tomorrow I am thinking of getting some quite cheap portable headphones to go with this set up. Any suggestions?

If you can still get them the Superlux 668B's are pretty nice for the price and sound sweet with the NX1/S5 combo They are so efficient you may not even need the NX1! However I do run the Xduoo XQ-10 with my Benjie T6
Of course for just a few dollars more the T6 rig on the 668B's won't hold a candle to this Colorfly C3/Toppings NX1s setup

I was thinking of ordering the hybrid from Trintity, but i don't think anything is coming out of their shop. I ordered tips from TA and it took 42 days to get it!
Hello Mark, I have run the Trinity Master and Icarus III balanced on the Walnut stack as well as the A4 and Mass Drop Mee PX(dressed down P1, I have both). I usually find that I prefer my Icarus III most of the time these days but the PX's really sound sweet in balanced on the Walnuts. To me this rig right here at less than $200 (Budget Rigs) can hang IMO with many $500/$600 rigs in SQ. Of course you don't have all the bells and whistles (Screen for album art, track info or Blue Tooth and the luxury items I call them) but for musical enjoyment I'm thoroughly impressed

Like I said "Get" is the key word with Trinity, they really bring new meaning to "Sketchy" these days (really for a long time for some who I truly feel for) I just call them the "Titanic" these days
@Sparky191 , That is the Walnut V2 DAP and F1 amp driving the MassDrop MEE PX (Basically the Mee P1)

Thanks podster. I’ll take a look at all those. It’s good there is someone else on this forum who appreciates grados. I have a set of hd800s for listening at home but on the whole my grado 325e get far more use. I love them, the sound and I find them very comfortable. Maybe some 60 or 80e for my office listening......
Wow just wow. I just played some metal through a Benjie s5 with nx1 amp and grado 325e. How can such a cheap dap and amp sound so good. Very clear sound. It may be my favourite combo and I do own far more expensive ones.
Man, that is a tough one. Like I said the Walnuts have almost an analog ambience to them (little bit of a noise floor) and for live recordings I prefer them. Electronica and what is you youngsters call it EDM I would say the N3 has an edge but outside of that analog sound you get a lot more with the N3. I guess I do like that the F1 provided balanced out too, they are a remarkable pairing for $60.
