Kogan player for 25aud and er6i free (just had to resolder the jack connectors). Etys aren't the best match for the player though, makes music even more bass lean. But the pairing is lightweight and perfect for working out.

I have not heard a bunch of IEMs with the Kogan but the Apple EarPods have a good warm dark bass centric additive which seems to overcome and comply to the Kogan signature.
The most important thing for me is to address that thin toy like clear fake mid. Once that is overcome the treble starts to gets fantastic and listenable for hours on end.

Kogan taking over the budget world...lol

The definition of budget for 2014. Plus after a while you get used to the sound and it starts to trump all other players. ?????

The price of the Kogan and sound quality can't be beat, unless they start giving them away in boxes of cereal like LCD watches.

My bassiest cans are probably HD25's which do sound really good with the little kogan. But tbh while it sounds great, most of the time i use my DX50, i find that the kogan is just edged out by the DX50 in depth to the music, even if it has more detail and clarity than the DX50 (maybe i just prefer the ibasso sound, i simply find it more enjoyable to listen to)... plus i'm spoiled by the rockbox UI.. the kogan ui drives me nuts lol (and so too did the stock DX50 UI)... please someone, port RB to the kogan!

Still, for it to be getting that close in SQ (and in some areas superior) to a DAP 10x it's price is an impressive feat!

All my DAPs are Apple iPods, but I found the Kogan UI experience gets totally easy with time. Does not bug me at all now?

HM-700 is a good DAP with lots of potential but it's limited balanced only output (and underwhelming adapter) kills the vibe. It could be very popular with just a standard 3.5 jack for regular IEM.

THX H2O, I was hoping having the E11K off that adapter would help that balanced output sound better?

I actually thought regular IEM sounded quite good with the adapter despite comments I'd read. Standard IEM like Dunu DN-1000 and some other hybrids I own I preferred more than RE-400B balanced.,no problems there. It's more the thin frail wire the adapters made from and it's cable management system connected to the player. It just dangles below the unit like a lost cause.

But the sound is great!
