1746166243326.png1746166485235.png This screwable type of Moondrop Pavene's cable adapter is awesome. I wonder whether it is available to buy.

So far I only found something like this, but the implementation is not as neat.

EDIT: found something like this, but the pricing is insane for what it is...

Here's the the screw type modular part.
aliexpress.com/item/1005007303555456.html
It's not exactly the same as Pavane's cable, but it's the same thing that Penon modular cable uses, so... I'm using a cable that has it, so i can vouch for it

Oh wow I didn't even know these were a thing! Good to see more affordable switchable plugs.

I have been out of the cable market for a while so I really appreciate you throwing this in there!

I've tried to replicate that buds, but sadly i failed.
From the pic, i assume it's the Qigom 600 ohm driver. I've talked to Qigom a few weeks ago and yes, they've worked with Longyao.
Anyhow, i want to replicate it so i bought the pair of drivers. I also have the real Yinman 600 2.0 LE next to me.
During testing and measuring, i found that the drivers used in the Yinman has wayyyyy better subbass extension. Way better. My of the shelf pair has little subbass in comparison.
And no, it's not because of the bass tube system in the shell or anything. I've measured raw drivers (dont ask me how lol) and the Yinman driver showed the same subbass extension. The mids and treble remains the same.
So i can conclude, from my part, the drivers used in the Yinman are custom to some degree.
I was indeed planning to copy the Yinman, as it disappeared from Aliexpress and was never available for purchase in Europe in the first place - that's why I was asking for pictures of the inside of the shell. It seemed to me from the photo @jeejack has posted to be a simple wooden shell with 3 1,5mm vent holes, the driver with stock tuning paper and no extra tuning inside the shell?
I have a pair of the drivers, but knowing it's not the same driver I won't try replicating the Yinmans.
Thanks for the heads up!

Yea the inner dimension of the shells is fairly simple. 3 1.5mm vent holes each side, although i do notice a small 1mm hole near the exit hole of the cable on the shell stem. I doubt it has any tuning function and more so for assembly process

You probably meant 6 holes (3 on each side) What's interesting, their shells of the limited edition have 8 holes (4 holes on each side).

The D-Max is really winning you over! I totally get that feeling of being "spoiled" by a new pair of earbuds. I’m curious, what’s been your go-to track to really test them out so far? Can’t wait to hear your full impressions when you get the chance!
I don't really have a go to track per se. Here's more than a few tracks I like that are pretty awesome in my book. I understand if these tracks may not be agreeable to everyone's sensibilities. Give them a listen and see what you think.

Frank Zappa - Bogus Pomp
Frank Zappa - The Grand Wazoo
Frank Zappa - Pink Napkins
Keiko Matsu - Walking on the Bridge
Chung Ha - EENIE MEENIE
Althea Rene - Secret Smile
Bonnie Raitt - Something To Talk About
Acoustic Alchemy - Mr. Chow
Supertramp - Bloody Well Right
Euge Groove - Born 2 Groove
Claude Bolling & Jean-Pierre Rampal - Baroque and Blue
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Over The Rainbow
Lalo Shifrin - Su Lin (The Monk)
ZZ Top - My Head's In Mississippi
ZZ Top - Heard It On The X

The heavy shell has a hole of slightly bigger than 1,5 mm (a 2mm drill bit won't fit), in the lighter shell the 1.5 mm drill bit fits perfectly!
Fingers crossed that @mt877 will receive the variant utilizing the heavy shell, it is very good! 🤞

Ok, thanks for the revelation :)

I received mine a couple hours ago. Not quite impressed. We'll see after the burnin.
So far it sounds a bit too dark for my taste and even reminds of closed-type headphones. The shells are too small for me, therefore, hard to get the proper fit. The cable feels nice but is too heavy.

Tmusic EP-3 Deluxe still keeps the winning position in my personal ratings.

Here is my personal fix for LREY W03 pro tuning.

1715657603600.png

The black paper just covers the whole metal tube, and the metal grate covers the paper. They both are sticky around the edge, so currently they are only held on by that stickiness, but I expect that I'll need to glue the metal grate on. I would have preferred a copper grate to match the style of the bud, but this looks pretty good too I think.

I can't easily A/B with the original or with the micropore paper, but as it is, it sounds really great. Still nicely bassy, lots of detail and stage.
I guess this is the mod to tune the W03 Pro? @droenald. I have spare Tanchjim Oxygen filter paper somewhere - I'll give it a try! But first, Ian is going to hear them and share impressions :)

@mt877 When you have time, can you try replacing the 68ohm graphene with the 130 bery and tell me if you like it?
- Huayunxin HS on the shell (the best quality horseshoe foam)
- MHS on the driver
- VC up

On the photo there where only 3 visible. But 8 open 1,5 mm holes would basically take the shell out of the equation regarding tuning I guess.

Damn!!! 😆
I think this is some Huayunxin driver. As well as the one on the pic @jeejack posted. As well as the 300r lcp I am obsessing over.
Btw: love Zappa, my favorite is maybe Camarillo Brillo

Yes! Give it a go, nothing to lose there.

Edit: I fear @tOMZY is right and all the DIY talk might be boring for others not into it frequenting this thread. Should we head over to the DIY thread?
