Chang Maeng 3D prints the shells in Wax.

Not really. First, he creates a silicon model (not sure how), then, based on the silicon model, he makes the mould to melt the wax. And then goes the rest as you had written.
This is great and I am thoroughly impressed
Yes, indeed. I don't know any other who does that this way. So much work...

And he is actually a nice humble person. The silicon models in the photo are of his latest shells. The one at the top is based on the PK. Currently he is trying new drivers to make the new models more bass capable to better suit western customers.

A bit more complex, but it's mostly right

I've worked with this tech before and now I have a collab running with this lovely mate, all exciting

Yes, it is a little more complex! He doesn't 3D print wax, as I was thinking first...
What he does is he 3D prints the shell in some plastic. The shell is then still rough. He finishes the shell nicely, so it has a nice surface. He then creates a silicone mould of the shell.
Out of this mould he casts all the wax models. Out of these models he builds the "green tree" we see on one of photos @tOMZY posted. The leaves of the tree are the shell models, the branches are the runners and the trunk is the sprue.
This tree model is then covered with a layer of plaster. Now this is heated and the wax flows out, leaving the mould empty. Then the metal is casted into this mould. After cooling the plaster is destroyed leaving a metal tree with metal shell leaves.
He cuts off the shells from the trees and finishes them. 😁👌
I have also worked with this technology before. We only did the first part of duplicating the piece via a Silicone mould. The parts where cast in resin, we didn't need metal...
@dykzei, what are you guys up to?

Buds have become mainstream!! Lol. Pavane review, although he starts the video talking about how he thinks NiceHCK EBX25Ti is the one of the worst sounding products he's ever reviewed.....

Ouch...

On a separate note, nice (old school) caliper you have there.
Thanks! 😁
By the way, did you finally glue the driver to shell in your Yinman 600? Or are you using micropore tape on the outer diameter? I forgot, getting old. 😏
If you indeed still use tape, could you take a few fotos of the driver and the inside of the shell for me the next time you refresh the tape?

Mark is more of an iem and headphone
More than obvious. What a shame. These buds are probably too small for his ears. He doesn't understand that the fit is essential to the sound quality and still makes false claims.

Edit: on the orher hand, failing to include full foams and/or silicone rings was a huge mistake of Moondrop

Is it custom made or is it the 600ohm berillium?

Before I drift off to sleep, I just wanted say that I'm officially getting spoiled big time by the Simphonio D-Max earbuds. I've been pretty busy with work these days with plenty of overtime, so have not been enjoying my music fix as much as I usually do, but when I'm getting some quality music time, it's been mainly with the D-Max buds. I'm sure everyone has been waiting for my impressions and I will give them eventually. I have been jotting down impression notes as I listen to music with them. One other thing is when I get the time I'm trying to also do some reseach on these buds as well. Simphonio's own web site is very sparse with information and doesn't describe anything about these buds. I did find some information on a Chinese website. Luckly google translation works well, but things get lost in translation, so it's not perfect.
The D-Max is really winning you over! I totally get that feeling of being "spoiled" by a new pair of earbuds. I’m curious, what’s been your go-to track to really test them out so far? Can’t wait to hear your full impressions when you get the chance!
