Earbuds Round-Up

Start your own vineyard
I'd love to! But seeing that my girlfriend and me are having 2 kids aged 3 and 5 there is just no time for that. And I'd really, really like to keep that wonderful woman and the kids. I don't want to be the guy hiding from his family in the garage - not yet at least! ☺️

Give it another 20 years. The garage is inevitable

I own RW-1000. How does RW-3000 and RW-4000 compare to each other, and to 1000? At $432, surely the 4000 is not 2.5x better than the 3000. Or is it..? I can't find any reviews on 4000.

I definitely want natural and rich tonality, with realistic spatial ability and no treble fatigue/sharpness. Of course nice bass, and nice resolution. Something great for phone calls. I can use my RU6 dongle, if I encounter a bud with high impedance, though I would not prefer to do this.

Besides RW-3000/4000(16ohm), some others I've been looking at:
- VE Zen SL ($298) [FIXED CABLE] 300ohm, 14.8mm LCP
- TGXear Serratus Black Sand ($250) [FIXED CABLE] 180ohm, N55
- Rikubuds Grand Alter Saber 3 ($175) [MMCX OPTIONAL] 180ohm, 15.4mm dynamic PET

- Venture Electronics Sun Dice ($298) [FIXED CABLE] 180ohm, 15.4mm driver
- Venture Electronics Zen 3.0 ($298) [FIXED CABLE] 300ohm, 15.4mm driver
- TGXear OG/Red Serratus ($199) [FIXED CABLE] 300ohm, 15.4mm dynamic PET diaphragm
- Symphonio Dragon 2+ ($308) [FIXED CABLE] 16ohm, 15.8mm neodymium

- Dunu Alpha 3 ($80) [FIXED CABLE] 32ohm, 14.2mm

The RW-3000 and RW-4000 are certainly above the RW-1000. The RW-4000 present a clarity and presence that is missing in the RW-3000. If you're interested in the TOTL Yincrow buds, then you should consider either the RW-2k, RW-3k or RW-4k.

Here's @JAnonymous5150's RW-4k impressions and a little follow-up RW-4k post in reply to questions asked by @samandhi.
Here's my very brief thoughts on the RW-4k and RW-3k. Cost is subjective and whether you feel comfortable to spend the money or not. I was an early adapter of the RW-4k and I think they were worth the spend, not everyone will feel that way. Sorry for not being more informative. I hope the impression posts will give you some clues about the sound quality and help you decide how to spend your money.

I'm thinking of buying TMusic EP6 from Aliexpress(30$). I will be using it with Fiio K5 Pro at home. I'm thinking it is as good as Yincrow Rhino or not. What do you guys think about TMusic EP6?

Be careful of that shop selling the TMusic EP6.

I got scammed by them.

After buying it plus another eabud during an Ali sale, the seller gave a fake tracking to some Siberian forest address. I messaged the seller to clarify. They claimed it was just a placeholder, please wait and don't cancel the order.

Told them I will give them benefit of the doubt, but please provide me a new legit tracking number. Rep says they will issue it in 24 hours, don't file a dispute please.

I waited one week and messaged them once more. Radio silence from their rep. Next day was the expiry of the buyer protection and money would be released to them without me receiving anything.

Anyway I took screenshots and showed Aliexpress CS and they refunded me. Major waste of time, they are on my blacklist.

I have a pair on the same shells (silver) 👍
Now we are waiting for a comparison between 400ohm and 68ohm 😉
All I can say is the 400Ω is not Nightingale tuned like the 68Ω build. The 400Ω basic tuning is "all-rounder" with excellent balanced sound profile. You already know how finicky the tuning can be with this driver and shell combination, but if done properly a great set of buds is the reward.

Got something new and shiny, it's the VE SM Gold.
Wonder if it will come a model that's not gold, that's available to buy for the rest since this is SVIP only.

I'm hyped to have a listen after work today, heard big words from two friends. Both rate it quite high on the VE lineup, my go to VE bud lately being Asura 3.0 FE.

I want to say a kind word about TMusic. I asked the seller to sell the EP6 without cable, which he agreed to, we agreed on $20. Since I was having problems with payment, I asked him to accept an order for another product with a price of $20, and send me an EP6. The seller did everything as I asked, sent it quickly and the order was received successfully.

The graphene driver definitely has character and can throw a grand stage too. Your build looks beautiful :)

I'm glad you had a successful transaction with the shop, and hope it was a one-off bad service for myself.

Though I've bought nearly 400+ items on Aliexpress and while fake tracking numbers are a common occurrence (so that the shop shows Ali that they shipped out the item within a time frame and do not get penalized), usually after messaging the seller they will provide a legit tracking number or respond. I know logistics and backend work is not the easiest for the workers, so I always give shops the benefit of doubt. I think in this case, I was more pissed about the lack of communication and zero response.

This is my suspicion though, I think it was during a sale where I stacked a few coupons and coins to drive the price down for the earbuds I bought from the shop. It is not uncommon that shops try to block the deal cause perhaps they may be selling their wares for very cheap with all the coupon stacking and discounts? So maybe by cancelling the deal or forcing the buyer to cancel it, they won't need to sell their product cheaply?
