Earbuds Round-Up

I just wanted to mention that after listening to my Yinman 600 for a week or so, I'm thoroughly in love and want to retract my initial hesitant impression. I'm not sure whether it is because of "burn in", getting used to the sound, or the very minor v-shaped EQ I added, but they now sound great and I can listen to them for hours and hours while working. They're very comfortable for me as well (especially compared with MX-500 shells). The only change I've otherwise done was use the donut foam from my EBS2-Pros since the one that came with the Yinman is comically large and slides off.

I also warmed up to my Yinmans over time. The sound was so different from anything else I owned, that it was an initial surprise more than anything.

And there was the hesitation for me that "these are so far from neutral. Is it really okay to like them?" Well that thought seems pretty silly now, but I did think it :p

Ah I do have DAC/AMPs that have 2 outputs like my Chord Mojo 2. But I realize this double output port is not really usable in most day to day listening.

Cause the different connected transducers have different impedance/sensitivity values, so one transducer invariably will be deafeningly loud, whereas the other is just a small squeaking mouse. Short of putting 2 identical transducers in?
There is the distinct possibility of that happening. I don't think that I will use this feature very often, but it DOES offer a quick way to A/B (non volume level matched), and the two that you see in my picture are fairly close in terms of impedance and sensitivity. But excellent point though. :)

Fantastic to hear.

I didn't find the stock foams to be too big (maybe you have them stretched out too much???), but they are known to not be very good with the buds. As for me, I am not sure that I find them to suck so bad, though I am not using them with mine. I have switched to some that Fran sent me with some DIY buds (I like the different colors, so I can tell left from right ).

😄 I liked that. So you get a forever pass just for making me smile.
I created this username some 20 years ago as kind of a joke. And I'll probably use until my passing.

Ok just so I'm not completely off topic, how would you rank those buds? At the head of the pack or middleish(don't think this is a word)? I see that they're in great company with your other buds.
with all the brotherly love up in here, I feel I have been missing out ...I need to stick around here more lol

I need to find time to take a listen to the new to me ff3 from another member here and a brand new rw1000 bass I picked up last AE sale.

Hell, I have several buds I need to build but haven't touched in a year.
Congrats on your new shiny(s)! :)

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on both, and maybe even a comparison. While I have the FF3, I have not had nor heard the RW1000 Bass Pro.

We'll see.

I'm hoping the rw1000 bass is more subbass/bass than midbass.

The ff3 is just to see what the hype was about lol. It's a massive departure from the DF neutral sound sig I typically prefer.

Finally, i went the other way around the "Upgrade Path" to my "ShoonTH ESEP-01BL" earbuds set.
I went for a "universal upgrade" that works with almost every earbuds / IEM i own.

:relieved: L-shaped 75 ohms impedance adapter + Penon Totem Adapter cable

You have to try it to believe it !
