Yup. And I've hit Microsoft and WindowsPhone on twitter repeatedly about it. It's ridiculous and inexcusable, considering my ancient Zune30 and ZuneHD handle gapless perfectly...even with subscription tracks. I keep getting pissed about it and going back to Android....but I just thoroughly enjoy the WP interface that it's worth carrying an extra DAP around for when it irritates me.

It just got too much for me, I like to go light, so I had to part ways and pick up an Oppo 7a which thankfully doesn't suffer from the same issue.

Here's my budget rig.

Sennheiser HD 439's -- 40.00
Sony NWZ-E374 8gb -- 40.00

80 dollars of musical joy.
I love the 8 gigs of space only.  Forces me to be selective with what i want to listen to at any given time.

I did the tape mod on them(initially I liked them anyway.)  The tape mod made them better.  Lots more bass.  Yet didn't affect the overall sound.  The tape mod encompasses removing a piece of tape from three holes on the back of the drivers.  After doing this, I feel it propelled them higher.  They get lots of use.

what is the iPod dock you are using? Thanks

He hasn't been on since January and a quick Google shows it's a Dynex dock.
