Wow, it is really curious. I didn't know that with a so affordable player it was possible to obtain those great results. You know, there's so much hype with audio products that we end up convincing ourselves that the most expensive devices are always going to provide us with the best sound experience. And obviously that's not true, or at least is not always true.

Cheers.

The X106x and X105x are old players, from 2009 or 2010. I got mine for around a 100 bucks NIB two months ago. When new it retailed for around 200 pounds.

What's a good portable combo for under £150 that I can take on my holiday abroad? I am mainly into bass heavy music. I don't want to take my fiio x5 v3 and jvc sz2000 as I don't want them damaged

For $85 US you could get a Benjie S5 (8GB Internal), TFZ Series 1 and a 32GB MSD. I would think 40GB for Holiday would be plenty:wink: Or if you are really on a budget you can get the same capacity with the X11, FBUANG F910 w/32GB MSD for $44:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Now if you want to spend your whole 150 you could wheel and deal with some AliEx sellers to get a Shanling M1 and **** 4In1 with a 64GB for that plus you would get Blue Tooth!

I thing I will get those TFZ Series 1s, as I always liked the sound of them. I found an old iPhone 5 in the house. Shall I go with that or go for a benjie? Also would either sound better with an amp like the topping?

I'm guessing the iPhone 5 will sound just fine on the series 1 as mine sound excellent on my old iPhone 4 and even better with my new Blue Bird amp:beerchug:

It's just crazy the sound you can get sub $100 these days!

Even crazier is what less than $50 (that includes the MSD card) can get you these days. I'll be listening to one of these rigs and have flashbacks of my first Nomad 128 and Shure E3C and how much it cost! My original UE EB5's sure cost a lot more than all these Chinese bass cannons today:rolling_eyes:
