I have been underwhelmed by headphones many times.  I have never however been so overwhelmed by how music that has always sounded beautiful to me sounded grating, harsh, metallic, sibilant, unbalanced... that is the last statement I will make about that headphone on these forums, as every time I talk about them I get a bad taste in my mouth.
Then again, I do not enjoy dubstep.  I'd take Bill Evans over the entire genre any day.

Audio Technica AD-2000. Absolutely Awful.

Klipsch X-10 - Great fit but where's the treble gone?

Sennheiser IE-8. fantastic sound, but could not get them to stay in my ears no matter what tips I tried. shame.
