Indeed... he really liked the 2020 Toneking (MrZ - MusicMaker) Dendroaspis Viridis; 32Ω (aka Green Mamba) which are very detailed and resolute... they sure murdered and raped a good number of our ears when they came out! I so want to try their new 黑曼巴 Black Mamba model but I am too afraid, LOL!
Hmmm. I didn't see these on your MrZ - MusicMaker - Toneking Timeline (though I could have easily missed it):
Toneking Unicorn

Oh, I remember the Black Mamba (mispelled to be Manba). It was talked about on here when it came out. Has anyone here aquired a set?

Here's the current bamboo 'coffin box'. I didn't get the round case, just a drawstring brown cloth bag and black and white full and donut foams.

Edit: I just wanted to mention that the left bud had this clicking noise whenever I moved my head around. Sort of sounded like the clicking / crinkling of the diaphragm with some airtight IEMs when you insert them in your ear canal. Problem was the cable. I think they must be using a cable clip to secure the cable. I just pushed in the cable a little bit and gave a twist, then the cable was secured and no more clicking noises.

It is just stunning! If it sounds as good as it looks, then it is indeed a keeper!

Longyao - Yinman 600Ω is TOTL in sound quality. The asking price is a bargain compared to some of the other TOTL buds being offered for sale. So yep, these guys are definitely a keeper.

Is on the way!!! 🫣

Too many things coming my way. Time to pump the brakes! 🤭
Yinman 2.0 600s have been my favorite for quite some time, and I agree 100%, for the price you are getting TOTL sound quality! Natural timbre, vocals are buttery smooth, great technicalities without being fatiguing and near perfect sub-bass extension. What's there not to love!

WOW! I am totally batting 1000 today. Told ya' I could have missed it. :)

Anyhow, out of curiosity, I was just looking into the Black Mamba to see how much they are going for, and I ran into the Unicorn on Penon Audio site (which I must have totally missed on your timeline). Also, I only found the Black Mamba on one store on AE (here). The funny (odd) thing is that I found that there is a store on Walmart.com that sells them in the US. Here

As mentioned, these are definitely TOTL sound. They have been atop my list of overall favorites since I got them for "store bought" buds. There might be a couple that sound better (in what they do best), but those are the niche ones that we have talked about on here before (Chaconne best for classical and super big soundstage, FF3 do bass a bit better, Maria II sound best if you are looking for "Diffuse" tuning and super big soundstage, etc...).

Be patient, Herry is quite busy (super busy) with his family business, as well as some other custom commissions he is working on both earbuds and vacuum tube amp wise.

Back in 2018 I listened to what I was told was a CAX Black Edition (second to the CAX Red Dragon) and I was not impressed at all. Very bright and not that headphone-like experience that I had read/heard about (maybe the CAX Red Dragon was more that...). I remember wondering if the CAX Black Edition I listened to (no idea which version it was) might have been a copy or a knock-off as a Simphonio (Sunrise Audio) SW-Dragon 2 Plus would have done circles around it at the time.

Then in 2020 I listened to two different CAX Black Dragon models one with the stock tuning and one with Sennheiser HD800 inspired tuning... personally, I didn't like either one of the tunings too bright and fatiguing for me (but please note I am weirdo with picky hearing) but they were very well tuned and marvelous earbuds nonetheless.

Many people do very much like the CAX Black Dragon, CAX Red Dragon (very rare, I have never had the pleasure to listen to one yet:disappointed:), and the various Freds (which I generally did like but again too much treble for my tastes).

Recently, the Cypherus Audio (CAX) Zane Titanium Dragon offered a full-sized headphone experience but was too fatiguing for me plus I was having some serious hearing issues with my right ear before so that might have been a factor as well).

Cypherus Audio (CAX)
Have you heard the Susvara Black Dragon tho? If it is tuned like the Susvara the treble shouldn’t be fatiguing.. I love me some treble but not fatiguing treble. About how long does it take for Herry to usually respond? Thank you for all your wonderful info. Your timeline is AMAZING. It’s extremely useful and helpful. Very much appreciated all your time and effort put into it. 🙏🏼

Just received Yincrow RW-3000 from aliexpress summer sale. Quite amazed, the most natural and balanced sounding earbuds in my collection, very smooth with nice visceral bass, unoffensive treble, and surprisingly spacious soundstage. They just sound big, like good full size headphones.
The others in my collection:
- ATH-CM700Ti - great details, elevated mids, not super bright, but almost complete absence of bass
- Smabat ST-10s Gold (150 Ohm) - more technical than ATH, almost perfect except that treble spike that depending on the source can be quite fatiguing, FiiO bass foamies tame it to more or less tolerable level.

Yincrow seems like the best tuned earbuds so far, almost ThieAudio Monarch MK2 neutral, in fact I think they are extremally close timbre wise.
Great build and packaging, supple, nice looking modular cable, leather case, comes with a bunch of different foamies, but I just went for FiiO balanced tips right out of the box.

EDIT: Thanks ARES 35, samandhi, baskingshark, and all other users from this thread for their recommendations and help navigating through the sea of earbuds offerings.

Congrats on receiving the RW-3000! They really are TOTL buds. I love trying different buds, but I can always come back to the RW-3000 and just enjoy the music played through them. It didn't take long for you to give a concise positive impression, mainly because they are just that good.

They are my current "pause game" earbuds.

My only 2 nitpicks with the Yinmans are the non-detachable cable (hence best to ask the shop owner to terminate it to 2.5mm/4.4mm at first instance in case you need a balanced source that can be converted via adapter to 3.5mm anyway) and the ridiculous nuclear reactor-like power requirements (600 ohm impedance, 87 dB/mW sensitivity).

While the Yinmans can be driven off a weaker source, the bass tightens with better dynamics/soundstage when adequately amped, and you can't unhear that!

Crin has a pretty strong distaste for earbuds, but headphones.com is soliciting suggestions for earbuds to measure with their B&K rig here! I'd still really like to know what causes that 1-2k dip in almost all of them
it's because iec711 measurements massively undercompensate the gain above about 600Hz on average, so to get flat on the 4620/5128 you need to dip that region on 711, it's good, DF-like gain sucks imo. (oh and also DMS diffuse field comped them on the 4128 rig, probably the main point there, DF has a smooth increase up to its peak, so a reduction in that region will cause it to look dipped when compensated)

(worst case scenario of compensation)
