LCD-X and XC Update
My Xs of 7 years died this past week (RIP old buddy :sob:). I ended up ordering a current-year XC from Moon Audio and a couple days later I'm listening again. The difference in sound signature is pretty incredible. The reduced, closed soundstage doesn't bug me nearly as much as the reduced bass...- Kiwikat

Audeze SINE Series
After a few days of listening I've got to say that these things are phenomenal. I actually prefer them to the X's, even straight out of my macbook pro, for certain types of music (so far this includes Jazz, Blues, and some Alternative Rock). The mids are so much more forward than on the X's. The...- Kiwikat

Audeze SINE Series
Just picked up a pair on the way home from work. I look forward to comparing and contrasting them to my X's and HD25-1 II's. They're really meant to be my daily drivers, replacing my IE80's at work, but we'll see how that goes. Very initial thoughts are mostly positive. They've already...- Kiwikat

Audeze LCD-X
Woohoo, got mine back from Audeze today. They replaced both drivers and attached new pads. Excellent customer service! As stupid as it sounds I'm rather proud to support companies like Audeze and Schiit. It is rare to come across companies doing the right thing these days. I'll make sure to...- Kiwikat

Audeze LCD-X
Uh oh... I've stopped getting sound out of the left side. I've tried two different cables and both of my dac/amp setups and there's nothing. Does anyone have any ideas before I contact Audeze support? I'm getting sick thinking about it. Not even had them a year.- Kiwikat

My first amp for Sennheiser HD650 --- Please Advise
I used my HD650's with a cheap FiiO E9 amp for a year. It technically got the job done. It provided enough power to make them loud enough, but it wasn't driving them to their full potential. I upgraded to the Schiit Lyr (and Bifrost DAC) back then and I couldn't believe it, they sounded like...- Kiwikat

Audeze EL-8: The EL-8 is a must-hear at CES 2015

SONY NW-ZX2
I don't know what's more entertaining- the people commenting about things they know nothing about or the Apple fanboys who think their iPods are irreplaceable... I think this is the coolest audio gadget I've seen from CES this year so far, at least in the "realistically affordable" category...- Kiwikat

Audeze EL-8: The EL-8 is a must-hear at CES 2015
I completely agree. I'm definitely one of the crazy people who prefer the look and style of the LCD series over these. These seem like they're trying too hard to look like Sennheisers. Both flavors of veneer look incredibly tacky on top of it.- Kiwikat

Schiit Decrapifier released - USB power isolator
I've spent the evening listening to the Wyrd I got for Christmas and I've not gotten any USB weirdness from my Macbook Pro, so it seems it is doing its intended job. (woohoo!) I am trying to convince myself that it isn't making any noticeable changes to the sound, but as several others have...- Kiwikat

Schiit Mjolnir headphone amplifier
Been enjoying the LCD-X and Mj (and Gu) combo for almost 6 months now. I couldn't possibly be happier. I cannot really compare it to any other amp in a similar price range, but mark me down as another happy customer. It sounds magnitudes better than the Magni, but it also costs magnitudes...- Kiwikat

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
By not having treble. The biggest difference between my LCD-X and the 650's for me is actually having a presentable high end. The X's have such a fun and exciting sound signature. I loved my 650's while I had them but I didn't know what I was missing out on until I moved on. They're still a...- Kiwikat

Sennheiser IE80's Impressions Thread
Just got mine in today and so far I'm pretty impressed. Never been a fan of IEMs in the past as they always bothered my ears. Thankfully I found a set of included tips that work well and are comfortable for me. From a sound standpoint I believe they're firmly better than my HD25s. The...- Kiwikat

Review : Sennheiser HD 25-1 II
You're going to want an amp for these. Perhaps something like the FiiO E12 or E18. I used them with the E7 for a year or so before moving onto the HD650's.- Kiwikat

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Sheesh, I loved my 650's when I had em (about 2 years), but I am glad I had the opportunity to move on to bigger and better things. The LCD-X is just so much more engaging and "fun" sounding, aside from being better in basically every aspect (at a price of course... $$$$). I am glad I was...- Kiwikat

Best Schiit Amp for HD 650?
I enjoyed my Lyr + Bifrost combo with the HD650 a lot (upgraded from E7/E9 as well). The sound signatures just worked well together. The Lyr 2 and Uber Bifrost would be even better. It'd be a more versatile option than the Valhalla if you were to get different or additional headphones in...- Kiwikat

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
My S3 literally dropped into a toilet and it wasn't affected by the water at all. I was very surprised that it came out alive. Perhaps a little Schiity, but still alive. Just got it rooted and all of the bloatware removed and she's running at least as well as she was on day 1. Really...- Kiwikat

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Honestly after 2 listens I can say I only really like 3 songs: Cedarwood Road, Sleep Like a Baby Tonight, and The Troubles. I find the first half of the album just plain awful. In general I find it hard to connect to this album. No Line on the Horizon made "sense" to me immediately, and... -
What Are You Listening To Right Now?
New U2 album- Songs of Innocence. It is FREE on iTunes. Of course you only get 256 kbps lossy files. So far it sounds like all other newish U2 albums- loudness war, excessive sibilance, etc. Sigh...
