Cosmic Ears - new CIEM company with great prices (including Hybrid designs!)

My audiologist said the same... and was also trying to have a conversation with me while doing the impressions! I guess keeping things CE related, I chose the pre fit service. So the correction I needed, though admittedly minor, didn't really hold things up at all. Actually although the...- tomllm

The godawful MMCX connectors on the UE900s were the reason I ended up going to Phil in the first place! I sincerely hope the T2s are a pretty different design.- tomllm

I don't even own an aftermarket cable. I detached them once when I first got em, just to see what happened, but then left them well alone until the point where the left became so loose it even came out when adjusting. ....I do know not to remove the CIEMs by tugging on the cables, before...- tomllm

Was rather upset this morning - the day after moving apartments. It seems that only the right hand CIEM has made the move with me! :( :( I got my CEs just before the T2 connectors arrived, so just had standard UE/Westone type two pronged connectors. I'd noticed that the left was getting...- tomllm

It'll be pretty soon I think - apparently the new lab is nearly ready, and I imagine when it's finished Headfonia will publish its CE6 review and the rest of the line up will be revealed.- tomllm

Smithamb, we're all eagerly awaiting news on the updated product line from CE. I think they're being sensible and not telling anyone about anything until everything is ready, and I'm not surprised it's taking a while to set up a whole new lab in the UK. Phil is probably the guy to ask...- tomllm

I am definitely guilty of buying into hype. But I can't stop myself! Only for whatever reason the new JHA Roxannes don't really appeal - massive cable with proprietary connectors suspiciously similar looking (if heftier) to the awful MMCX ones on the UE900.- tomllm

I'm saving for someone's flagship CIEM, and am eagerly awaiting news on what the BA6, CE6, or whatever it is Phil has up his sleeve. It would be lovely to try the really highly rated stuff like the 1964 V8s, Noble K10 or Spiral Ears SE5 etc. However having had the excellent experience...- tomllm

Thinking of getting custom molds for Universal IEMs
I've just had my UE900s reshelled by Cosmic Ears (I'm in the UK) - the crap connectors on the earpieces were just driving me round the bend. First of all... I don't think there's an improvement in isolation. In fact, I think they isolate slightly less. Bear this in mind. I actually don't...- tomllm

Definitely comfortable fit. And sure enough, they're getting more comfortable. I think my canals just need to get used to them. The reason I said musician's fit was that the right hand IEM is a fair bit tighter than the left, although that seems to be sorting itself out. Just to be...- tomllm

...UE900) as he wasn't too impressed by what he got from the standard one. B e a utiful. They're noticeably better than the stock UEs. *Much* better clarity, far more impact from bass... very impressed! The left one is a perfect fit, the right is slightly tight, but I can't decide...- tomllm

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread
My cosmic ears reshelled UE900s are in the post. Excited. Phil however did measure the IEMs before and after the process, and in fact ended up building his own crossover for the drivers. Essentially, the UE900 doesn't measure well. Big drop in treble, slight drop at the lower end too. ...- tomllm

My reshells are being posted today! Very excited. Phil has also made his own crossover for them as the UE900 didn't measure well. The prefit service was great - it proved my left shell fitted perfectly but right was a little tight. Fingers and toes crossed it fits now!- tomllm

I will believe anything you say! More than happy the PCB is less fragile - these won't be replaced for a while I don't think... assuming I can withstand the temptation of either the HY5 or BA6 when they're announced.- tomllm

I'm getting excited too. I have to confess I badgered Phil this morning about my UE900 reshells, which have been with CE for 8 weeks now (although this includes the pre-fit service). Apparently they'll be ready next week. The reason for delay was that I asked for a non standard mod (not...- tomllm

I'm resisting the urge to pester! I sent my impressions via recorded delivery and according to the Royal Mail they were delivered on the 9th, but the My Account section of the site shows that CE are still 'awaiting impressions.' I assume it's just a case of the page not being updated...- tomllm

Vsonic GR06 extremely disappointed
Are you positive you have a good seal with them? Given you have IEMs already I'd be surprised if you didn't, but what you've described certainly doesn't sound like the IEM everyone has been raving about! You might try some that are too big just to make sure of the seal...- tomllm

It doesn't really matter how busy they are.... it's Christmas. I would be rather miffed if I wasn't allowed to take time off around now! Infinitely better to have happy staff doing a good job than reluctant staff who don't care about the product! That doesn't mean I'm any less excited...- tomllm

They have had signs on their website for a fairly long time about the fact that Nov/Dec were very busy, and were then going to have a break. I'm still waiting for my shop access thing to be granted so that I can pay for a reshell. Impressions are being taken on the 16th, so I hope they get on...- tomllm
