Big big +1 to that! That is a major reason my monitors took so long because the first impressions sucked because the specialist said and I quote "I have done impressions for 25 years and never have I had to use bit blocks." Lo and behold when shells arrived seal was not right and well they just felt off... Got another pair done this time I made sure about the block and vióla I was able to proceed with my monitors! Those instructions are key to an expedient process of monitor making.

That's so bad of him/her! I actually took those instructions to my audiologist and she glanced at them, and then ignored all steps XD
Anyway, how does on become an audiologist? Does one just roll in, or do you have to go to university etc?

Hahaha I have a minor authority issue so it just gets me when one has a title that indicates you specialize in something that you can automatically null n void credible advice just because you were not taught the same way and figure well shoot it probably won't be that big of a deal regardless hehe.

I have actually pondered that same question as well I imagine you must be well versed on the anatomy of the ear and have at least a Bach Degree in that particular major

From what I know Phil planned to group the monitors into 4 categories. Each category will have different models of monitors and will be equipped with different accessories. At least that was the plan few months ago and this was my understanding of the plan.
I remember names of the three categories i.e. E=Elite, P=Professional and C=Classic. I can't remember name of the 4th category. Since, we have CE4E and CE4P I assume that "V" is the abbreviation for this fourth group but I don't have a clue what is its name.

EDIT: I just checked the CE web and it seems that there are more than 4 series i.e. C – Classic, E – Elite, P – Professional
M – Micro, H – Hybrid, D – Dynamic, but there is no series starting with V

Got my micros back today.  Not had long to try them out so no impressions yet.  One nasty experience though.  Plugged them into my iphone 4 (nearest), checked the volume was ok and pressed play.  BANG!  The volume had defaulted to maximum!  Only in a second at that volume, but b**y hell!

I did something similiar a week ago where I forgot my amp I use for LO in high gain from using it with my speaker dock... When I threw on my customs and turned on my x3 it felt like cats were clawing at my ears! I swear I never want to experience that again. Has to be like one of the worst 5 seconds of my life :D. Funnier still is that my immediate reaction was to try and pull them out as quick and safely as possible which at the time I hadn't gotten the hang of yet! Gotta love customs when you are in panic mode .
