Until now I have experienced any problem. The rubber rings stay in their places. I am very satisfied with my results :) :)
That's good to hear, just wanted to mention it in case anyone was using only foams and was feeling discomfort where the acrylic tape bunches up.

1mm and 2 mm double tape both fit well on the rim. Here are some pictures for you guys

Now, with the rim of the shell cover with double side tape, you can use your rubber rings and add any kind of foams you like. The main advantage is that you get better isolation as you had never heard before

Great info. Also looks like an alternative for the typical (ungluing) drama.

But how are you handling boominess, if any?

Qué tal @Eduardiofilo, as you seal more and more your concha (double meaning in Spanish -- yikes), bass is increased. If you seal it too much, sound may become boomy/bloated.

It does not seem to be your case, though? Saludos.

It doens't produce any kind of boominess, instead, the earbud sound more balanced because the spaces make between your ear, foam and rubber rings give the sensation of less sound leakage. The bass doesn't turn into the main frenquency so that boominess doesn't happen.

Bass doesn't turn overhelming and highs doesn't turn sibilant, instead both frequencies gave you "right ammount of information" that you need to enjoy your music.

Pd: rubber is around the rim of the earbud

Need to try that some time. Thanks again.

I'm wondering if there any tips on how often should I switch foams and are there any tips for new foams so that they won't disintegrate over time?
No hard and fast rule - depends on your body (earwax etc), climate, usage. I'd say just replace when the foam looks more compacted or when it's dulled in colour.

@mt877 someone on our Discord asked if you could recommend an alternative to the qigom drivers that you listed for the Artiste Nightingale build? It's shot up to like 85$....

32 LCP, 32 bio and 400 ohm

Mine arrived about 2 hours ago. What you have written about them I will gladly sign. FlatHead probably couldn't have gotten off to a better start than with this budget model. For 37€ I can't really fault them for anything, it would be almost cheeky. Overall, the sound is so nicely balanced that you can completely forget about the EQ.
Congrats on your new shiny! :)
Thanks everyone for your feedback on the Recommended Foams table (@mt877 @samandhi @lordearl and others). Here's the latest and greatest. Link: https://forum.hifiguides.com/t/wired-earbuds-best-of-the-best-recs/42597/242
Fantastic job putting this together!

Edit: What I am listening to tonight:

@jeejack how do I find these on qigom AliX? Tried searching 32 lcp but no luck
While I can't find a qigom LCP (their 32 ohm driver does not list the driver coating on AliX), I did find this. Don't know if this the one @jeejack is talking about or not.

32 LCP, 32 bio and 400 ohm
I believe that swapping in another driver to @mt877's Artiste Nightingale will turn it into a completely different earbud. Most certainly additional tuning will be needed to make it sound at least similar in that case.
I don't have experience with the 32lcp and 32bio drivers. If we are talking about the 400 ohm graphene, my experience with it was that it has more bass (a lot!☺️) than the 68r graphene. Additionally I believe it needsless ventilation than the 68r...not absolutely certain about that though!
Guys, what is your experience with customs when buying earphones from small makers who do not have CE, Rohs, UKCA, UL or similar approval markings? In theory, they are required. The buds from Thailand I declared as "metal housings for earphones" as if there were no drivers inside. It worked this time but I did not feel good cheating.
This is a very good question actually! I have not thought or worried about it so far and also haven't run into any problems. I'd like to know the answer to this too.
For me, one criteria that helps me where tuning is concerned is I look for the kick-drum, snare drum/tom toms, and hi-hat cymbals (not necessarily crash cymbals though) to be roughly equal in volume.
Drums is also what I am looking at! I used to play drums, but the necessity to work to earn a living have hindered me from becoming a rockstar. 😂
Thank you for your quick comparison of the Pavane VS the RW3000.
Yesterday I listened the whole day to the RW3000 and it sounded really fantastic to my ears! Drums sound very snappy here. Super transient response and dynamics. Also the relatively strong upper- and midbass didn't bother me at all this time! What is interesting is that I listen to this set at a little lower volume than with others I have and it still sounds great.
I feel that the lower treble/upper mids are already more present than the mid-/upper treble. I'd still say that the RW3000 treble is at the sweet spot for me. But if Pavane has even more of a tendency like that.... Naaaaah! It is too expensive for not having a top notch treble response.
BTW: the DC Elite is on its way ro me.
Yes I agree, HB1 and Starlight are indeed a good yin and yang complementary pair of buds that cover off on most scenarios. I enjoy both on different occasions.

Another combination at a budget below this level would be the Faaeal Rosemary + NiceHCK EB2S Pro. You achieve a similar set of sounds without breaking the bank!
What are you doing promoting all those budget sets?
As I have learned recently the undisputed new king in the budget arena is the Flathead Audio FH-01?!? 😉
Even though @ttorbic told me that I might not need it, I am very tempted to see what it can do! @AsciiJC liking it a lot is a good sign for me. His impressions of the Serratus2 where aligning with what I heard in that very well as I remember.
That's the same shell I'm using for the Starling (my 32 Ohm graphene build) and it's actually made of copper that's been nickel plated.
I did write the seller in what shell the HB1 would be delivered, and they told me the "variety" picture was wrong, and they would deliver the bud as in the "buds only" picture. This would mean that it does indeed not come in the great and expensive "Starling" shell. BTW: Starting next friday I have 2 weeks of family free time, so will be able to build some buds. I will need some guidance... 😉
