The Monk and yincrow shell is known as the MX500 model.
Ah. That's what I thought but I had forgotten. Lol. Thank you so much.

I wonder why this size isn't used that much. The few buds I've gotten lately were all smaller. Which fit fine. But if I turn my head too fast or something like that they'll fall out. The mx500 shells don't do that. Maybe they're too big for alot of people?

Which yincrow should I check out? The x6, rw-9, rw-100. AliExpress has a few of them. I know the x6 is popular. But I don't know about the others
I would recommend the yincrow rw-9 for the amount of bass it has, but it may be sold out already.
In that case, I would recommend X6 as it has more bass than traceless.
The rw-100 is an earpods type.

Edit: X6 is @RikudouGoku's favourite.

mx500 shells use 15.4mm drivers. I prefer the larger size as well. Would prefer even larger if possible.

Ok cool. I'll keep this info in mind when I eventually go to Riku for some buds. Hopefully he'll make me one up with 15.4mm driver and MX500 shell.

And yeah, I would take even bigger as we: ll if they were made.

Edit: How is the Fengru? I'm thinking about getting it along with the yincrow.

I think all of Riku's buds are 15.4mm, but always good to ask to make sure. His latest custom shells are supposed to be better for smaller ears, but even they use 15.4mm drivers.

I did a thing. Thanks guys.

Nice review! I'd love to try them.

Honestly the plastic mx500 shells are my favorite of the 3 offerings, even though teh other 2 are metal.
Are those plastic rivets in the top of the shell?

Fengru's DIY EMX500 is also good because it has a lot of bass in the MX500 shell.

LUN SHENG YE365 is currently 50% off at AKHiFi Audio Store. Even if they turn out to be unremarkable, It's a relatively cheap resource for unique wood shells and other parts.

Damn. These look good too. I've never seen a wood flat head. I know when it comes to Grado's the ones with the wood cups is known to sound a bit better than the one with the plastic cups. I may have to give these a go too

Does anybody have a diy spec sheet or guide for a custom high impedance earbud? I wanna try making one just for the fun of it, I have the experience with soldering but don't know what to buy or where. Thanks!
