That's a bummer. It really seems that I dodged a pretty big bullet there. Good thing Shopee cancelled my order for taking so long despite having limited options compared to AliX. It has better customer service. It's almost comparable to Amazon. It's not the first time they saved me the headache. One time a seller sent me a fricking rock in the mail from China.

It took me like 5 days to get my money refunded because they did an "investigation." I said that don't they check the parcel through x-rays when it enters the country?. Good thing I took video of me unboxing the parcel, so I have a CONCRETE evidence against them.

- I ordered a set of the new M5 drivers during 11/11, to try with my M5 housings.

The Smabat M5 (2023) Beryllium Coated 14.2mm driver [(Damper=1/2), 32-Ω, 112dB/mW, 10Hz-22KHz] were in the mailbox when I checked this morning.
I listened to them today at work, without foams, and they were definitely Mid- & Treble-centric.
Once I got home this evening, I put some Hiegi Donut Foams on them, and that provides a better seal, and Bass - to make them sound more "balanced".

One odd thing about these drivers - Using them on the M5 housings connected to my Impact Audio Cables Custom 4-ft 2-strand Type 6 Copper Litz Balanced cable [Eidolic 2.5mm TRRS Plug -to- Eidolic MMCX], my KAEI TAP-1S amp got much warmer than usual. Moving the cable over to the Loxjie P20 amp, and it's running at the normal temperature. Source is my Android TV streamer, watching Hallmark Christmas Movies.

Exciting...!!! I was trying to get a pair of those also but they only had 3.5mm left in the shop I found them in (discontinued a few years ago so all deadstock) and I was skeptical about driving these buds properly with that. Did you manage to find a balanced version?

Also had my K300 Samsara order cancelled for discontinuation after confirming with the seller before purchasing that they had a 4.4mm version in stock

Backreading in here I saw @drewbadour post about this simple mod on the Rosemary's I wasn't really thinking of modding my Rosemary because I want it to be in its stock form to serve as reference point on how 150BG should sound but because of how easy it is to do and to reverse I tried it
I find that blocking only three ports will suffice

but imo I like it's stock tuning and like what @baskingshark said

when amped properly, the clarity and resolution improves

I guess I'm giving it enough power because it sounds good enough for me lol it's a fun lil experiment non the less

VE definitely don't have a release schedule. They announce when they have something to say and ship when it's ready. I actually like that about them. No BS.

I got it in 3.5mm as I guess that is how it came. No 4.4mm option.

Please let me know how it goes - Originally these were available in all termination options but I suppose the balanced have gotten swallowed up given the impedence and sensitivity. I think I will probably pick up the 500ohm version in the Xmas sale as they seem to still have balanced editions of those but my understanding is that it is a more neutral tuning compared to the 600ohm. Will report back.

If the 600ohm is workable in 3.5mm will probably end up being my first 2024 purchase Until then the search is on for some Deadstock available K300 Samsara

Expensive and initial release of new tech. I'll happily watch someone else sink a heap of cash into those. They will either turn out to be a dead end or get rapidly eclipsed by more refined versions (which will be substantially cheaper).

I will now haul my joyous ass out of bed and go find some coffee.
