Earbuds Round-Up

Unfortunately, both AVCCK and AACKCK on AliExpress have not updated their pictures well which is quite common for AliExpress stores to do, LOL! It is imperative that you always message the store directly and ask for a picture of the current model/reissue that they are selling so you know exactly what you are getting.

That AVCCK store link posted by @Kenyon actually shows pictures of three (3) different 150Ω models produced by Yinman!

2016 Yinman 音曼 150

The above pictured Yinman 150Ω model, in light to medium yellowish-brown Sandalwood shell with clear rubber stems and cable slider, is the older original 2016 Yinman 音曼 150... some models came with a clear rubber cable splitter, slider, and jack while other models came with a metal cable splitter & jack and plastic cable slider.

2016 Yinman 音曼 2.0 醇净 150

While the above pictured Yinman 150Ω model, in light to dark, yellowish to reddish-brown Sandalwood shell with black rubber stems; darker insulated cabling; metal cable splitter & jack; and a clear rubber cable slider, is the slightly newer 2016 Yinman 音曼 2.0 醇净 150... both now unavailable (as you can see when you try to select them in the store; the left-hand side choice does not work).

2021 Longyao-Yinman 龙谣音曼 Green Bull 青牛

The right-hand choice in the store is the now available to buy model in dark ebony black Sandalwood shells with long wooden stems; black OFC cable; metal cable splitter; and black plastic slider and is the 2021 Longyao-Yinman 龙谣音曼 Green Bull 青牛 which came in two (2) impedance versions: 32Ω or 150Ω. This is currently the only available 150Ω model (that is until the metal shelled 150Ω launches/debuts here any day now... ~16 JUNE 2023). This is the very same shell used by the 2021 Longyao-Yinman 龙谣音曼 DR09 and the 2022 Longyao-Yinman 龙谣音曼 2.0 醇净 600 LE.

To confuse matters even further, there exists a fourth and slightly older 150Ω model the...

2019 Longyao-Yinman 龙谣音曼 DR08

The 2019 Longyao-Yinman 龙谣音曼 DR08, which also like the Green Bull 青牛, came in two (2) impedance versions: 32Ω or 150Ω.

I had the Yinman 600 and loved it. Should I buy Dr09 or buy another earbud? What is the difference between 600 and dr09 . Thank you for recommending

I received today the Black Dragon Susvara and Caldera Edition. Herry recommends 300h of burn-in, so let's start the process before making any review.

Can’t wait to hear impressions! Waiting on my Susvara edition.

so why m4 has no sub bass, i realy missed natural sound with added little boosted subbass for fun listening(m2s pro )

Can't comment on the M4 as I haven't tried it, but some of the other Smabat flatheads like the M2S Pro (depending on driver installed), ST10S Black Gold, ST10 have big sub-bass (for a earbud).

If you are asking about the M4 with the stock driver, it is because it is the stock driver. Refitting it with either the ST10S 150Ohm, or the Super One 100Ohm drivers will afford a decent amount of bass. Having said that, there will never be the amount of bass the the M2s Pro (or others) can have because of the design of the bud itself.

Congrats on your new shiny! :)

I personally prefer the Longyao-Yinman 龙谣音曼 2.0 醇净 600 Limited Edition aka Yinman 2.0 600 LE in fixed cabling but the DR09 is an astounding earbud as well.

The tuning of the drivers is not ok either. It's too choked

All, I have read with interest many of the impressions posted in this thread for TOTL earbuds as compared to the FF3, particularly for those with a warm-neutral presentation that do not perform as treble ear spikes. The FF3 has restored my earbud respect and continues to whet my appetite for what else is out there. From feedback here it seems the RW-2000 is a good (upgrade/sidegrade?) option for rock and a decent all-arounder. As a comparison, I'm a big fan of the HD650...

Am I interpreting the feedback correctly, or is there another logical upgrade from the FF3 that is worth experimenting with?

IMHO the RW2000 is a sidegrade from the FF3. They are both fantastic buds, but different enough that they could actually be considered complimentary to each other.

If you like the HD650, the Yinman 2.0 600 is closest to that one. You would need a ton of power to drive it correctly though.

VE Monk V2s + FIIO BTR7

Modest setup, been my go-to cheap bud at work for some time now. Sort of warm analog sound.

Is it just me, or are the stock earbuds from the iPod Shuffles at least semi-competent?

image-of-ipod-shuffle-against-plain-background-CC331C.jpg

I'm currently cleaning house, and found a 4th gen Shuffle as pictured above, but in red, and with its included earbuds.

I'm listening to this setup at the moment. The fit is a bit on the poor side for me stock; I need either O-rings or foam covers to make the buds stay in. But the sound? I like it. Maybe I just appreciate it a lot more now.

These aren't as resolving as my FF5. The cymbals seem to sound like 112kbps MP3 cymbals. But the general sound is overall pleasant.

Nothing beats an earbud for passive listening while working. I find it almost impossible to concentrate while using an IEM. The isolation and the immediacy of the sound really distract me.
