I'm currently running my Denon D2000s through a Fiio E11. However, I know that this amp isn't bringing these phones to their true potential. Also the short battery life and inability to charge while in use is kind of killing it for me.
 
I've been out of the game for a while and have no idea what kind of amps have come out within the past 1 or 2 years. I would just like to know what the best amp I can get for around $100 would be. Portability really isn't an issue, I would settle for a tabletop amp if it will suit my needs.
 
EDIT: I'm curious about the Little Dot MKII, though I've never used a tube amp. Like I said though, portability is not an issue

What sources do you plug the Denon AH-D2000 into?
 
The Denon AH-D2000 are only 25-Ohms, a $27 Fiio E6 could drive them.
You can buy extra batteries (BL-5B) for the Fiio E11 that last longer then the original battery (BL-5B).
Or $15 you can get two extra batteries with a simple AC battery recharger.
 
The PAV2V (Pocket amplifier 2 Version 2) sells for around $60 on eBay, ships from Canada.
Can run off AC or it's 2 AA rechargeable batteries.

There is the Fiio E10 USB/DAC/Amp, $75, runs off USB power.
 
Fiio E07K ,$90 USB-DAC-Amp
Fiio E17, optical/coaxial/USB, DAC, Amp, sometimes goes on sale for under $110.

As for sources, I'm currently just using a Zune or my Galaxy S2, but I have a Pioneer receiver I'm going to start using once I move into my new house.

I would assume the Pioneer's headphone jack has a high impedance, so plugging the AH-D2000 straight into the Pioneer may not make a good combo, but plugging an external headphone amplifier into the Pioneer should be fine
 
I guess for around $100, there is the Schiit Magni ($99) headphone amplifier.
But my brain thinks that if you think the Fiio E11 is not driving the AH-D2000 well enough, then I doubt any other amplifier is going to make a difference.
The my Fiio E11 can easily drive my 300-Ohm headphones and the AH-D2000 are only 25-Ohms.
So the E11 provides way more power then the AH-D2000 could ever use.
 
There is the Little DOT 1+, which I believe is designed to work with low impedance (Ohm) headphones,
It might deliver power in just the right way that might "Wake Up" the Denon AH-D2000.
 
Might think about selling off the Zune and Fiio E11 and putting all cash towards a nice DAP (with a good built in DAC), like the Fiio X3 or iBrasso DX50, or even one of the Cowon models.
