Is there really a good reason for you to get closed? As for Senn HD280, they are comfortable to wear for long period of time, at least on my head.

Your portable amp should easily drive them. Mine are 300 and sound amazing from my cMOY(yes I did comparisons).

HD650 are considered to have a very nice sound stage for an open can. Is there even such a closed magical headphone that can come close to HD650 sound stage at all and under 400$? ;p

I did pretty bad on pitch and avg on others, but I have very noisy environment. Will try to do it with IEMs later. And having tinnitis probably doesn't help much with pitch test, lol. With IEM's pitch went from 20 to 1.5, tonedeaf went to 85%, rhythm 90%. /shrug rhythm kind of high. Weird.

You can get 650s and get a cMOY amp, they are cheap and do very nicely until you can get something better. My cMOY drives my HD650 beautifully, I have done comparisons with some other nice amps vs cMOY and while there was some difference between the amps, honestly cMOY performed almost same as...
