STAX: *****-SB versus non-SB adapters...
Has anybody listened to, say both SRD-6SB and SRD-6? What's the difference between them? I saw an older post where somebody wondered that SRD-6SB sounded better than SRD7. Well that's against logic but I'm willing to accept some paranormal phenomena - especially if I need no DC power converter...- d.phens

Sennheiser's Duofol (two layers of material to prevent high frequency distortion) edit - AKG's known to use two layers too so it may be quite common AKG's Varimotion (various thickness of diaphragm) SONY's Biocellulose (it's who knows what - their diaphragms are made out of it) AKG's...- d.phens

TakeT H2 technology in microphones?
I know that AMT is actually using technology that had been used in ribbon microphones, electrostatic headphones are analogical to powered condenser microphones but how about a piezoelectric ribbon mic? One day someone will perhaps start building them and... I think it would be the first time...- d.phens

Origin of hiss / any solutions to that?
My MicroShar is somewhat hissy. Why? How can I get rid of the hiss? I could have some ideas but now I'm too tired to post anything that requires any thoughts. Should I rather ask in DIY forums? Thanks!- d.phens

Rockbox + iRiver IHP100 (=IHP120) issues:
1. It seems that LINE OUT jack is being amped, I keep having the same volume both in headphone jack and line out and I CAN CONTROL VOLUME in rockbox. Am I right? I somewhat can't understand this. 2. How PRECISE is Rockbox's EQ and / or Crosfeed? Having set up EQ properly it should be...- d.phens

normal bias STAX plugged into PRO energizer (after plug modding)?
What's the difference between Pro and normal version of headphones themselves? As I know, current lambda basic / classic / signature line is 99.5% identical, the only difference is the cable gauge used and leather earpads used for higher models. Did Stax change the actual headphones at all...- d.phens

ATTENTION PLEASE: Altec Lansing's IM716 = IM616 with the 'pod'?
Can anyone prove they feature exactly same drivers and earpieces? I must say MANY people had this question in mind and even searching head-fi thoroughly didn't help me find out. Thank you! --- I'm sorry for almost vulgarily begging for your attention but I'm a little upset that there...- d.phens

ETYMOTIC ER6 / ER6i naming chaos
...tolerance level? Whatever the names are, we must clarify two things now and for ever: How many DIFFERENT DRIVERS did etymotic make for those *6* named line of IEMs having the same enclosure shape? headphone.com's graph database lists only one such model: ER-6 which means that ER-6i...- d.phens

STAX GAMMA (non-pro) - vs. - STAX SR-X mk III (non-pro)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Which do you think sounds better? P.S. Logically SR-X mk III or Stax Gamma should in no way sound better than current SR-202 because of membrane size and thickness and shape as well as higher bias BUT as far as most of us know they do sound better! WHY? Thanks!- d.phens

Beyerdynamic DT801 vs. 880
I hope someone has auditioned them both. Alas not me. Are the DT880 better or just different? Beyer apparently doesn't think that "Faster = Higher = Stronger" (my awkward attempt to pun on Citius, Altius, Fortius...) Hence higher number doesn't always match price / quality... So -...- d.phens
