Enjoying the 780i PRO with the just-arrived, roomier and more comfortable Brainwavz oval hybrid pads.
The sound is taut, nimble, crystal-clear, polished and airy yet intimate.
. . . a welcome break from the stock vinyl pads indeed--they may will never come back!

Nice! I run Brainwavz pads as well on my HFI-780.

Hey, I like that 1/8" jack on your 780s!
Do you have a step-by-step instruction video on how to put one in?
I would really like to hear the 780 with a tried-and-true UPOCC re-cable.
:beerchug:
I don't have a step by step but a meter will quickly tell you where the wires go inside. You can purchase 3.5mm TRS sockets to fit in the original cable hole but I repurposed a TRS to RCA adapter.

Cut the plastic away from the cable socket, unsolder the existing wires and make the cup hole just big enough to accommodate the socket. A little hot glue or epoxy on the inside to keep the socket secure. Solder it up and your good to go.

Thank you!
What did you use to size/bore the cup hole?
The plastic is really soft so I used a drill bit that was a little bit smaller than the diameter of the socket. (You can turn the drill by hand it's that soft.). Then I expanded the hole a little at a time by turning a flat blade screwdriver in the hole until the socket had a snug fit.

Just unpacked and swapped in the Schiit LYR 3 [tube/hybrid] amp with a NOS Sylvania 6SN7GTB.
Compared to the SP400, the 780i sound [subjectively] larger, more transparent, smoother and more coherent with the LYR 3 [and the Sylvania tube].
(Now I'm glad that the deal fell through with the Schiit.)

Just picked up a pair of the Edition Eleven. I have tried/owned the Proline 750, Proline 2500, Pro 750, Pro 2500, HFI-780, HFI-2400, PRO 780i, PRO 900, PRO 2900 and PRO 2900i. Have not heard any of the Signature line. These Elevens are my favorite Ultrasones so far.
Helo.. i am interested to buy the eleven but its hard to get ultrasone demo in my country.. i see that you have audeze mm-500, how it compares against eleven? And which one do you like more?

The MM-500 are a bit more forward and clearer-sounding, more detailed, dynamic and controlled.
Have been listening almost exclusively to the Edition Eleven for the past several weeks. They, too, are detailed, a bit more relaxed, with an expansive 3D soundstage and beautiful tonality. Paired with the Schiit LYR 3 and/ot LYR+, the Ultrasones sound the best ever to my ears so far.
Deo volente, I can do an a/b later this weekend and provide an update, since my upstream gear has undergone several changes [e.g. power supply upgrades and tube-rolling] over the past month as well.

Does anyone have a source for replacement headband pads (the pad on the part that goes over the top of the head)?

I recently contacted them about getting replacement pads for my Ultrasone Edition 11 headphones. It took me about a week before they responded. They gave me a quote in US Dollars to ship to Florida, but then sent me an invoice in Euros. It took another couple of days to get a reply as to which was correct. In the end, they only go through PayPal for payment, with emailing you an invoice for the amount. They wanted $120 for the pads and another $40 for shipping to Florida. It is even more costly going through PayPal for payment since they do an upcharge from US Dollars to Euros before the final payment. In the end, I felt it was too costly. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find any replacement pads for Ultrasone headphones other than going through them.

Their website is horrible and customer service is archaic. Hard to believe that such a popular headphone company has such poor service for getting replacement parts.
