B&W P5. I see recommendations for these here and there, and I'm always left scratching my head. It's quite possibly the most congested sounding pair of headphones I've ever listened to, and it's the only headphone purchase that actually pissed me off somewhat.

I had a studioV dap n it paired well with the p5...woke it up with more energy.
My Sansa clip didn't fare as wellzzzz.

agree with you there. I ectually anjoyed the HD202 more despite the lesser high and mid refinement because it was simply more fun sounding. (not to mention cheaper too)

I got a pair of 212 Pros many years ago and they were hopeless, it was criminal they put the Sennheiser name on them.
 
Biggest purchase regret was the HD650's, had i been able to try them first i would have said nope, no way, not for me within 30 seconds.

To me they sounded veiled the hd650. Why I opted for the t90. Luckily I got to audition them first and then say no.

I think the issue with the hd650 is not the they are veiled, but the they need globs of power to sound fantastic. And to get said power the hp/amp price ratio gets skewed. Most people own initially drop $4-500 on the headphones probability don't want to drop another $1k+ for an amp right away.

Now if you have a $1k+ amp your probability not looking at the hd650s anymore.....

I do kind of regret getting the Sennheiser HD558's, but not too much because now I know to not buy that headphone again. The only sennheiser I would buy right now would be the Sennheiser HD800, I fear the HD600 and HD650 would be in the same ballpark as the HD558.

The HD 600 and HD 650 are much better than the HD 558 and sound nothing alike. The HD 558 and kin are some of my least favorite headphones made by Sennheiser, they are so boring and dull. The HD 800 is also very different. What do you not like about the HD 558?

I agree with kman1211. Both the HD600 and HD650 are fantastic. 
 
This isn't really a regret, but my trusty self-painted and cabled ZMF V1 is basically going to gather dust now that I have a ZMF x Vibro, and I can't really sell it because my recable and paint job were pretty bad (so much hot glue because I was stupid and got the wrong gauge wire for the plug) so I'd take a huge hit.

I found the HD558's to be a great headphone except for two things. 
 
The HD558's didn't have the synergy that you get from listening to music, and the bass needed a big boost. 
 
Damm, you got me interested in the HD650 again, maybe i'll try it when I get my setup right, but not right now.

I can't say i regret getting them, but after hearing some HD558s, I really could have saved $50 and gone with those instead of my HD598s.  But hey, part of the hobby is learning when to spend and when not to, and experience is really the only true way to learn.

Bought for 80$. The headband didn't keep the pressure (made of plastic) so the bass dropped really fast and isolation got worse. Had to endure that for months before having enough to buy anything else. It made me mad enough to buy ANYTHING but Sennheiser for two years!

Sennheiser CX300 II in ears.
They used to tangle like a person and one channel failed after 3 months. Thought they sounded good but the Bassbuds (don't laugh) I got next blew them out of the water, didn't tangle and included a microphone and in line remote and, ahem, Szvaroski crystals.
