    Any artists in the house?

I've never been formally trained so I'm not familiar with the specialty shops around here. I've heard of some of them I just dont know where to find them heh I get lost easily. I just buy my supplies at a local bookstore here (yeah they carry art materials). When I first started with pencils, I...

    Wow... Sennheiser HD 205's rock!

I have compared them to the 212 and I prefer the 205 for overall clarity. It's not going to resolve details the way other high-end cans do but compared to the 212, the 205 kicks ass.

    Slipknot won a Grammy? What?

I haven't heard any of their songs (i get turned off by badly conceived costumes) I dunno, grammys just too... mainstream. I apologize to those who thinks otherwise, just MHO

    What bit-rate MP3?

Just a suggestion - try listening to something encoded in 128, 160 and then your preferred high bitrate, that way you'll be able to more accurately discern the imperfections, having listened to the song at a low bitrate. But if you can tell the difference from a 160 to a 192 then there's no...

VBR quality mp3s vs the actual CD.

i guess a badass rig has something to do with the overall clarity of the music, but your hearing ability is also a factor. I can't abx anything above vbr4 vbr new(lame 3.97b2).

Has owning great headphones changed the music styles you listen to?

not changed, just expanded. after getting my first pair of headphones all of a sudden i wanted to see how one genre would sound like with my headphones. also, to experience your favorite tunes all over again is just so worth it.

    Headphone sightings!

i saw a guy wearing HD 212s at the mall yesterday. What I didn't like about the experience was that he gave me this smug look when he noticed i was looking at his headphones. like he's da bomb or something bleh. of course, nothing against the 212s, just the owner i guess. I saw a guy with...

    Newbie looking for inexpensive headphones

There's a pretty thorough review of the 201s here somewhere so you'd maybe wanna try searching for that. From what I've read, it's a balanced phone and offers a lot of value for the price. I recently got the HD 205 and so far, i'm satisfied with them. Straight out of my shuffle they sound great...

Admit to it: you wear headphones in public that you shouldn't!

I wear my HD 205 all the time. If it's not on my head, it's hanging around my neck People don't really react rudely to headphones around here eventhough it's rare that you see people wearing them outside. I do get stared at a lot, but that's normal i guess. I've worn them on the train, the...

Sennheiser HD-212 Vs. PX100 which is better?

bass on the 212pro is better, if we're talking about bass that will make your head explode. I've listened to a pair of burned in 212pros and they seem to drown the mids with excessive bass. I have no first hand experience with the px100, but generally they're well regarded for their great sound...

Does everyone alphebetize their CD collection?

I'm probably going to have a hard time finding things in the future or when my collection becomes gargantuan, but I organize by album title, alphabetically of course. I just like album titles, especially when it's as unique as fiona apple's when the pawn... disc Digitally, I dont go as deep...
