Budget-fi members, post your rigs...

But really, I have the cheapest rig.

Sing.

To yourself. Don't even get someone else involved, no matter how pretty.

Even better, halfway touch your fingers to your ears until you get a nice circumaural sound going, and you'll have a wonderful hi-fi "in your head" singing experience! It may not sound like a superstar, but it will be way up there in the fidelity charts!

Cost? Only your neighbors!

Do you think stuffing damping foam in her mouth will reduce the resonance? There's this tinny edge to her treble...must be the reflected sound vibrating against the palate...

Aaah...the problems in dealing with a "spankher" system

hmmm...I guess my budget setup would be;

Panasonic SL-S320 line out (free..totally stole it from my sis. The line out is pretty good.)
Cards 6' mini to mini $14
A47 self-built $50ish (never did rack up the total cost for this since I tried some diff things)
MS1's.

My greatest value item I have would be my athena tech S2 speakers I got for 140 shipped. That's about 50% of what the MSRP is...I think.

Denon DCP-150 ($60) to Sony Eggo D66 ($90) = $150

That was my setup for about a year. I still listen to it from time to time.

This laptop+foobar+FLAC
Headroom Total Bithead via USB
HF-1, baby.

All I need for team college-fi, and all I'm going to spend on headphones. Still saving up for my speaker rig when I get settled down.

I also don't do portable audio, well, only to the extent that my laptop is portable.

Trying to assemble a "budget" Fi setup for portable use.

Starting with an iRiver iHP-120. But the output is hissy, so I need a decent amp. And then a better pair of IEM's.

Um, yeah. I guess I'm going to rapidly expand outside of the budget range.

Well, if it's significantly cheaper then my home setup, does that count?

My setup is closer to $200.00 CDN but here it is:
  1. SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 4 GB - $76.83
  2. Kingston 2 GB MicroSd Card - Free from a previous purchase
  3. HifiMAN RE252 - ~$114.36
  4. Total - ~$191.19
A little under $200.00 CDN. For now, it's all I require in Team College-Fi.

Have a similar set-up: Clip+ and ER4P. Also ~$200

It's really hard to beat the concept 'tiny player + decent IEMs'
