digital piano recommendations
And as far as polyphony, the higher is always better. This is more evident when playing long passage and the sustain pedal depressed. Things to look for are polyphony and the hammer action. The Yamaha clavinova series is an excellent choice and they have great hammer action.- pianomav

A LOD for iPod Touch?
yeap, get 'em from one of the DIY'ers..... but before you embark on that path I should warn you that the SQ gain from the headphone out of the 'Touch' is not much when using the LOD. I have an ipod touch32 using a lod and fed to my pico and the sound difference is not much when using IEMs. If...- pianomav

How much diff do LODs make to iPod Touch?
I have the 32gb Touch and the LOD does make a difference but this of course will depend on what amp you use. The sound out of the Touch's headphone is decent but not better than the other ipods out there. The output out of the LOD is better also when compared to the headphone out. Also keep in...- pianomav

iPod Touch vs. Zune
I have to agree with the ones that favor the zune over the itouch as far as sound quality. It's unfortunate that apple didn't pay much attention to the sq of the ipod 'Touch' when compared to the other ipods such as the 5th gen, Classic and Nanos. For serious listening, i use my 2nd gen nano and...- pianomav

SA6 Mods
I did the bass mod on the '=' using a pin to create the hole and it does make a big difference in bass response. Anyone that owns the SA6 should definitely do these mods...almost a night and day difference!- pianomav

Will my Heed CanAMP be necessary if I go for a Benchmark DAC1?
I would recommend keeping the Heed amp since it's alot better than the built-in HP out of the DAC1. Like what the other person commented, it's cut and dry , fatiguing at times. The DAC1 built-in amp has plenty of juice to power any headphones but you might not like the sound out of it. In my...- pianomav

DAC1 USB vs. DA100S?
I actually owned both DAC's at one time and the difference is very little between the two as far as sound quality. I actually preferred the sound of DA100 and it's true that the DAC1 is analytical . If i didn't need to go balanced, i would have kept the DA100. So it depends on what you're...- pianomav

Sleek SA6
Just purchased the SA6 from a head-fi'er and these IEMs are great! This is the 2nd IEM that I owned (1st Atrio M5) and the atrios are no match to this IEMs in my opinion. Balanced sound, nice treble and tight bass and it's very comfortable to wear unlike the Atrios which i had a hard time...- pianomav

Justin: Please make a Glite with a pico dac built in
I'm in too if it will have optical input in addition to the usb. The small footprint and the advantage of a deskstop amp/dac is too tempting ;-)- pianomav

Pico or AE-2

Pico or AE-2
Again like what the other head-fier has stated, both the AE-2 and pico are great amps and are probably similar in sound signature. It goes down to what features you're looking for. Pico = amp/dac, smaller form factor, AE-2 = rca in, bigger knobs.- pianomav

Pico or AE-2
DAC = digital to analog converter. The pico has a high-end dac chip that converts the digital audio from your pc to something that the pico amp can amplify. Via the usb , it bypasses the conversion from your computer's dac, which is probably of inferior quality. So what you get is a better...- pianomav
