Stand for Jecklin Floats
Dude, that was 2005! I don't have copies of pictures I took of a headphone stand 9 years ago! Please stop PMing me about it.- swt61

Austin 2012 meet impressions
Quote: Thanks Don. I sometimes route my two active subs into the mix (they sit right under my desk). That gives the K1000 bass, and visceral bass at that. Get too far away though, and things start to sound strange. Quote: X-tra moist was the general theme of this meet...- swt61

Austin 2012 meet impressions
Quote: I know what you mean. I use that word for lack of a better term. I suppose that if classical were my main music interest, stats would be the clear choice, but it's not, and I can get pretty close as far as detail is concerned in my rig. I've decided I want more of a fun...- swt61

Austin 2012 meet impressions
Quote: While I readily admit that the K1000 is not a headphone for the masses, and I have no issue with educated critisism of my system (every system has some trade offs, and mine is no exception), I must say that this is the very first time I've heard anyone call the K1000 mids recessed...- swt61

SR009 / WES / BHSE / LL hit the mainstream

Austin 2012 meet impressions
I for one really liked the venue. I liked having the different rooms and the vast, spaces. Great gear, great people! Al, great to see you again, it's been too long and I always enjoy our conversations, even when we disagree. Your rig really looks sweet buddy! Special thanks to...- swt61

Texas Meet (Saturday, March 10th, 2012) [Location Inside]
I'll be heading up to Pflugerville tomorrow morning, so I'll have time to pick up any snack stuff needed as well, or I'm plenty happy to just chip in, either way works for me.- swt61

Putting OII pads onto Thunderpants is a relatively easy task. I had no problem doing so to my old pair. I can give you some pointers Saturday if you like.- swt61

Yes, I have a Buffalo II DAC. It has balanced and SE outputs. Coaxial RCA, Coaxial BNC, Toslink And Balanced AES/EBU inputs. It also has volume control via a Volumite and a built in Mini³ amp.- swt61

Cool. I've been interested in the L1s since Tyll's review as well. They'll give me a chance to check out the Mini³ that's built into my new DAC too.- swt61

Texas Meet (Saturday, March 10th, 2012) [Location Inside]
Quote: My amps have 4 pin female XLR connections only, but I'll bring all of my various adapter cables so that you can try them on all the various amps available. I have been wanting to hear the LCD-2 on my β22 for some time now, so glad you're bringing them.- swt61

Texas Meet (Saturday, March 10th, 2012) [Location Inside]
Quote: Almost certainly Al. Al is talking about luvdunhill, who is an incredible DIY builder and all around fun guy. Not sure what things he may be bringing. It's hard to keep up with his latest stat amps, but most likely that and 007s. You'll have to come check out the corner...- swt61

Texas Meet (Saturday, March 10th, 2012) [Location Inside]
The K1000 is not the best headphone in meet conditions, as you can imagine. But if there's a quiet moment, it can be fun to hear a headphone with somewhat speaker like qualities. After years of trying many, many phones, these are the ones that do just about everything right for me. But isolation...- swt61

Texas Meet (Saturday, March 10th, 2012) [Location Inside]
Quote: I can stack just about everything, except maybe the CD spinner, as it's a top loader, so I'll try not to take up too much valuable space. Yeah, the F5 was actually started a few years back, but had a few issues that just recently were resolved by luvdunhill. It's a really nice...- swt61

HE-6 Loaner Program
There's no way that the HE-6 damaged the amp because it didn't have enough power to drive the headphones. The β22 has more than enough power on tap to drive the HE-6, as well as every other headphone on the market. I drive the K1000 with mine, and have ample power on hand. There is a...- swt61

Quote: I could convert an apple into an orange with a little spray paint and some carving, but it wouldn't be a true orange. You can't make a true balanced signal from a single ended signal. You can create a pseudo balanced signal, but it's not a true balanced signal. For a...- swt61

Quote: Poorly? Seriously, some of you really need to read up on exactly what balanced is and what the benefits/drawbacks might be. I have a fully balanced home system. I like having the extra power that a dual mono, balanced amp can provide for my K1000, and I like not...- swt61

Quote: Quote: Nat and Namin mak good pointz. I had Fitz convert two Darkvoice 336i amps to monoblock balanced amps, one for left and one for right. Balancing the volume pots on those larger home amps was a PITA, so much so that once I finally dialed them in I no...- swt61

JH13/JH16 "Order waiting" thread
I brought up WWII because it was a time when people were willing to do without items for the war effort. You just don't see that kind of willingness to sacrifice today. I have no desire for war or talk of war itself. And I didn't intend to state that the Forum was an American entity. I stated...- swt61

JH13/JH16 "Order waiting" thread
My point, obviously lost on you, is that we are becoming unwilling to have patience for anything anymore. Yes the world has become a much faster place, but I hardly think that allowing for time to properly build a pair of IEMs is anything we can't find our way to do. If not, maybe some of the...- swt61

midoo1990 I think you're to be commended for showing us the real you. It makes it so much easier for me to make note never to conduct any business transaction with you. Many times you never find out what an unrealistic customer is like until it's too late. FWIW I think JH Audio has great...- swt61
