Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Hmm, audibly when doing sweep sound test, the peak is closer to 4k and the dip is right at 5, but whatever, too many variables. Triton seems like a good competitor under 2K, but I feel it is still too much of a small refresh in todays market. Some cool new or Raven-like shell design might be a...- AboveNBeyond

From your description I didn't notice much of a difference from LX except for 5khz peak that could even be a downgrade for some.- AboveNBeyond

BCD's in Canpur are for mids only. You can google datasheet of their bcd driver frequency response and read Elise audio's store description for CP622b.- AboveNBeyond

Just make sure you don't use old shouty harman target and the likes. I personally mastered parametric eq and set it up manually. It helped bring some of my cheaper sets to totally new heights. I don't use any eq with LX though, it instantly gets messed up, loses it's charm and character.- AboveNBeyond

LETSHUOER S12 - Next big planar? (Impressions & Discussion)
@surfwaves I am currently exploring some neutral-tuned sets to later buy a higher-end neutral iems to complement Legend. Hexa is vocal centric with soft treble, laid back bass and upper treble, very safe tuning, I got it prior to Wu and S12. Legend has a very heavy sub-bass, very musical mids...- AboveNBeyond

LETSHUOER S12 - Next big planar? (Impressions & Discussion)
Hey everyone! Got S12 pro yesterday to replace my Zetian Wu due to horrible Wu's comfort (vertically inverted shell shape) and short nozzle. S12 pro sits like a glove entirely in my ears, I think I can even sleep with those. As with every other 2021-2022 planars treble is harsh and upper treble...- AboveNBeyond

Satin black looks too simple to me, I hope it's much better in reality than on the photo. No idea how good it will look with glossy shell either.- AboveNBeyond

CIEM vs IEM with ANC - Isolation
I don't use iems outside or in noisy environments, but at the very least I can say that having loud clicks on my computer mouse I can easily hear them even with tight and thick eartips (Azla Sedna black) on uiems and I hear NOTHING with my ciems. Edit: I haven't tried uiems with ANC- AboveNBeyond

Cayin N7: A Voyager of Unexplored Frontier
Is it a good idea to buy N7 if my library is like 98% flac/PCM and not DSD? Does it keep up in the price range because of Cayin's special sauce against other DAPs? I'd buy DX320 in a heartbeat at least for power, system wide EQ, PCM-native and more neutral-bright sig but damn it looks like...- AboveNBeyond

Eh, I've had it for a year now in a 25$ iem.. I think market is pretty saturated now. It really is difficult to come up with new tuning, only driver quality/configuration rules nowadays. I'm sure Singularity has better technicalities or less distortion on high gain, but I can't deny the...- AboveNBeyond

You can remake them for free in the first month. My customs are slightly on a looser fit side and I can use them whole day with zero ear fatigue. If you don't use them while doing physical activities it would be worth the wait to remake them with looser fit.- AboveNBeyond

My top 5 (don't need 10): 1. Storm (analytical) 2. Raven (fun) 3. Viking (treblehead) 4. Traillii (laid back mid-head) 5. Grand Maestro (switch tuner) DAP - LP6 And I haven't ever owned or even tried any of these items 🤣- AboveNBeyond

Are CIEM all the same in terms of comfort for sleeping on the side?
Customs don't compare with universals in comfort for long multi-hour usage though. Unless you find universals fitting you ears really well.- AboveNBeyond
